WHAT A DAY, ONCE AGAIN
lantern rite always gives, as much as I loved this one - I do like when it feels a bit more heavily "lore involved", I've heard they tried to make the lore less prominent in limited time events though..
not sure! doesn't matter, felt like they tried to pack in a hint to neuvillette-zhongli interaction at the very end in the middle of a HUGE fontaine section kinda out of nowhere?? maybe it's setup for the future, i still enjoyed it c: just felt out of the blue
was thinking of making the thumbnail bongles + neur for year of the dragon, iconic BUT they didn't feel as impactful/needed for the main story, definitely more of a xianyun and gaming angle there
loved seeing everyone again though, sad no ningguang and GLAd to have seen some more yaoyao and the suuuuuper cute interactions with qiqi!!
i do hope we keep following cloud retainer's new little disciple shuyu as well eheh
anywayyyyyyyyyy that's lantern rite gone already.. i'll do the minigames on 2nd channel probably!
hoping for maybe hexenzirkel lore and of course dain quest coming soon I assume!!

This quest was one of my favourites, I cry every lantern rite cutscene but this one was so beautiful, more so than usual. I was so happy when gaming hugged his dad at the end lmao had me sobbing like a baby
I was on a break during the 3.x lantern rite so I didn't cry there lmao, I heard about a lot of memes making fun of hu taos rapping or smn though
same here! this lantern rite had a very simple story really but I enjoyed it the best because of that
i didnt expect lantern rite to end in fontainn too, i was so confused, but then i figured it out like a week later, this year is the year of the DRAGON. so we end with neuvilllettte, and him givnig us his lil loch ness ladle thing. closing this with a dragon, and a dragon shaped gift 🤣
I love how cloud retainer thought of who she'll give 10 boxes of tea to meanwhile Neuvi was just "yep Wrio likes tea, 10 boxes"

Yeah I wish they had their own models, but with how clear it is they JUST made these forms, it leaves a door for them to get their own ones later.
Xianyun and yaoyao's dynamic is like gordon ramsey but on master chef junior where he's way more compassionate and inspiring to all the kiddos! 😊

I absolutely loved Mountain Shaper and Moon Carver in this quest, they were absolutely hilarious. Hopefully we get more of them in the future. Love the videos!
I enjoyed my first Lantern Rite. Especially Zhongli setting up the Traveler and Xiao on a kite playdate and being so hilariously sly about meeting Neuvi. XD Also, the last bit with Neuvi being a damn nerd trying to human with Wriothesley and being so proud of his ladle. Ugh, my heart.
I want to sprinkle on a bit of details in this event, cuz every year’s Lantern rite incorporate Chinese elements
And this time a lot of it come from my region!! (Hong Kong Guangdong region)
I just really want to share my experience :3
Firstly, we DO eat a full table of dishes just for breakfast :3
Ofc not for everyday though, more like a weekly weekend family activity in the morning
We call it ‘yum cha 飲茶’, directly translated as “drinking tea” where we go to ‘jiu lou酒樓’ to eat delicate dishes called ‘dim sum 點心’
It’s more of a Guangdong Hong Kong kinda culture
(and yes I am a fan of yum cha)
I can really see how the producers are trying to show different culture elements
The scared of relative thing is a common Chinese meme, because we visit our relatives once a year in Lunar New Year.
And they normally ask awkward question like how is your grades, do you have a gf, or when are you getting married. Sometimes they are funny and sometimes offensive, so yea, thats where the meme come from

Idc if some people think this year lantern rite is more like Gaming's hangout quest it is my favourite lantern rite ever! 😭 The mixture of feels and silliness, I love it! The final cutscene is amazing too!

OMG!! I was waiting for your reaction on this quest for soooo long you don't even realise. It's an amazing quest. I would say that it's the best so far and for once I wasn't just spamming left click waiting for the cutscene which is mostly the best part. They've really stepped up the game this time
Idk of you've listened to each of ner's voice lines abt the archons yet, but if you haven't I would recommend it bc his one abt Zhongli certainly,,,, gives context to the avoidance ASDKFKH

I freaking loved this Lantern Rite story. It's so funny and wholesome balanced with a very relatable parent-child story, and I really loved it. Best Lantern Rite so far for me.

I loved Lantern Rite this year. The execution of Xianyun’s plan was the most entertaining quest to date. I laughed at so many points and it kept a smile on my face lol And the hug was so sweet 🥹

I think it’s so cool how Genshin uses Lantern Rite to spread some Chinese culture! It’s one of the reasons I love lantern rite so much
When I was visiting China there were so many kites and I made one myself with a workshop in china!
Fun fact: If you look at Neuvillette's voicelines about the archons, he talks about bringing them to court (in the voiceline itself hes quite aggressive when talking about the geo archon) so Zhongli's "fear" at the end is kind of justified here? (Almost like he would know about it tho???)

After the voicelines from Neuvillette Zhongli is i think pretty glad that he dodged that bullet. I would love to see Neuvillette interact with the archons but as long as he is so aggressive towards them maybe not a good idea.

42:18 In Cantonese, Yeuk sounds like french "œuf" but no f and the vowel is longer than œuf. I use the international phonetic alphabet (IPA) to help with describing sounds and stuff 'cuz I make my own languages and the like. It's essentially a chart of all the sounds that humans can make, and there are a lot. It's fun to go thru each sound to see which ones you can pronounce and maybe use in a word hehe

I'm not sure whether I'd put this Lantern Rite first on my favourites, or the previous one (both are on the list tho lol). This one was really wholesome with lots of funny moments, while the last one had two genuine archons seeing each other again.
