This was a great first episode and an introduction to you guys and buying a boat. It would be great if you could delve slightly deeper and I know it’s personal but to help other people dreaming of doing the same can you give more info about things like your ages / how you plan to live on a boat with much smaller income / do you have a budget set of how much your living costs will be / do you have a retirement plan / do you have health insurance / it’s all these small bits that are really hard to find information on and to help plan a future like yours!
Thanks for sharing your joys and struggles as you navigated the journey to becoming full-time cruisers. It was great meeting you last night, Emily and Dixie! :) ~Melissa and Ted
Loved this episode, 3 months ago I sent my husband a video clip of a couple in an RV and he never responded, which I thought was strange, anyway I got home and a few hours later he said to me, why do that (Rving) when we can do this, and he started showing me sailing videos. So sounds just like you guys, except we are a lot older than y'all we are only 3 months in. So thank you for sharing your journey.
Being a big Parlay Revival fan I found my self biting my nails when you mentioned the lagoon 450 waiting for the bulk head topic to come up. Glad you stuck to your guns. New subscriber here after my co-worker Connie mentioned your channel to me, can’t wait to catch up to current day.
That lagoon owner seemed quite low class to hide it and then be disrespectful for you to even make an offer, they should have been at least appreciative and respectfully declined. Never do business with people that treat you that way.
So great to see this channel finally kicking off. Marie and I are looking forward to following your adventure and we hope to see you on the water at some point. Safe travels guys!
Hey I remember meeting you both in Annapolis last year. Nice video, I hope the content is from a ways back and you've already found your boat! Cheers, Hans
Congrats on taking the leap in 2022. We look forward to following your journey and hopefully not to far behind you in purchasing our cat. I’m in Tampa if you ever need crew to on a passage anywhere. Good luck.
Late to the party, just came across the channel, love the videos and story thus far. Was happy to see that you’re pals with Stephanie, we’re big fans of hers too (affiliated marketing). Looking forward to see how your early story unfolds and where your travels take you. Best, 🤗
Oh my gosh! Thank you so much!! Welcome aboard and can’t wait to hear your thoughts on all our videos. The good thing about being late to the party is now having some much to watch! Thank you for your support!! Cole
Hello again Adventure Crews!! As I said in an earlier post we are working through these backwards… One question my wife and I had was - if you were doing it all again would you still take the time to go to the boat shows (to look at new boats) and did you find that helpful when looking at old boats??
Sorry but this sounds foolish to sell your house to live on the boat full time. With millions of people fighting to get into a home along with rising housing prices and interest rates, it will be even more difficult to get back into a house once you get tired of this lifestyle. Most people quit this sailing lifestyle after a few years for many reasons. Just remember that every year your boat is depreciating in value while real estate continues to go up in value. For example, say your house is worth 700K and you sell it now. Years down the road when you get sick of this lifestyle and want to go back into a house again, an equivalent house that you want to live in may cost you $1.2M and with an even higher interest rate! On top of that, you now have to pay an even higher property tax just to live in the same kind of house that you lived in before. So unless you got $10M in the bank, this lifestyle is not practical.
@tacogrande007 you make all great points which is why we only sold one of our houses and kept the other and rent it out. We didn’t talk about it in this video, but we would never advocate for anyone to “sell it all” to go sailing or live any alternative lifestyle.

Went back and found this video. I am always impressed with the leap of faith required for this. Bravo and best of luck.
I am hooked
Let's GO!!!! Thank you!
