    Just being impatient stimulates my nervous system to think there's danger. I've learned patience through this work and meditation. 'Freaking out isn't the solution.' Love this.

    Problem Dan is that when they go on for a while non stop the fear sticks in, but once it goes away for 3 weeks we forget to look back at the good times when the flare comes back
    Worse is give a time horizon for symptoms to leave!

    "They're basically false alarms. " 🤯
    Symptoms are false alarms, like a smoke alarm being set off by cooking something in the kitchen.
    Am I not trusting my body is OK... Is my doubt increasing?
    Hand on your heart and KNOW you're going to be okay, this is a perception of danger not an actual danger.

    I try to convince myself that my spondylolisthesis is not the problem for the pain,but I remember the dr. Saying you can live with it , but there is a possibility of permanent nerve damage if you do nothing. How can I show my brain there is no danger. That’s when I start to wonder if I’m doing the right thing.

    • @NEChristo
      @NEChristo 4 месяца назад

      I’m going to write exactly what Dr. Sarnos wrote on pps 74-75 in his mind body prescription book- “Spondylolisthesis” This is a dramatic looking abnormality in which a lumbar vertebra has moved out of line with the one below, usually forward. Cases range from mild to severe. The cause of the condition is mysterious, but in my experience, the disorder is painless. I have photographs of serial x-rays on a young woman who was unaware that she had developed this abnormality because she had no pain. The x-rays were done for some other reason and the spindylolisthesis was discovered by accident. This does not surprise me, for I have yet to see someone with spondylolthesis who did not have TMS.” This is what Dr. S called normal abnormalities which Dan also refers to a lot. In addition I would sugggest refraining from calling it “my”… whatever the “condition”. Do not identify with a label some scientist or physician made up once upon a time. You are far above and beyond any medical label or diagnosis. Much love to you. ❤

    Hello dan! Greetings from Spain!
    I wanted to ask you a question:
    Can a negative visualization be used to achieve indifference to the symptom?
    That is, I visualize myself with high symptoms but I imagine that I don't care at all so that when the symptoms are present they don't matter to me. I have seen visualization used to imagine myself without symptoms, or that I wake up in the morning without stiffness, etc., but that is like sending a message to the brain that I don't want to have symptoms. Wouldn't it be a better option to visualize yourself with the symptom without caring at all? This way I think you would send a stronger message to the brain.

      Good question. From my understanding when we visualize our mind and body don't know that we aren't experiencing that. So if we visualize being pain free or symptom free long enough we will create that kind of life for ourselves. If we visualize we are in a lot of pain or symptoms but we are relaxed about it. We will create a life full of pain and symptoms and being relaxed. I love to visualize all sorts of wonderful things. It helps me to be happy and grateful and those feeling will help your body to heal.

    Hi Dan! I did a good job teaching my brain that my feet and legs are fine, and now they rarely bother me. But now my original first symptom (lower back pain) is super amplified. It's difficult to keep the fear away and no to expect the pain with certain body positions/activities, when the sensations keep getting so colorful.
    Thoughts?
    Thank you once again ❤
