As a singer myself and massive BTS and Jimin fan, I actually have to agree with you that I would prefer less autotune. Now, this man does not need it in any way but I understand it's a stylistic choice. I can get over that. What I don't agree with is this not having a hit quality to it. This will be a massive hit all over the world and deserves to be. Reminds me of MJ with "The way you make me feel." People just don't make songs like this anymore and Jimin's vocal gymnastics at the end were the icing on the cake. He's already a global superstar and this is only gonna grab him more fans all over the world.

I admit I had to work at it the first couple of times listening to this song to overcome the autotune, as I just wanted to hear Jimin’s beautiful voice. Yes, it’s a stylistic choice but not my favorite.
You can tell from his introduction that he didn’t do a research to know who video he was reacting to. He really really needs to go do his research on Jimin, BTS and their fan base. As a producer, you should first watch the whole video and understand it. There you will know that it’s a throwback of the 90s before you make judgment about anything you understand. After that then you can ask all the questions in the world you will like to know about the MV and Jimin.

This is the only song at the album not writen/produce by Jimin. If you pay attention, auto tune is use just in specific parts of the line, not all the time. Jimin voice is very particular, sometimes don't sound human. Some vocal coachs said he sound like a instrument, or a bird. Autotune also match with the retro vibre, '70/'80 style. I'm curious as to what you consider a hit song. To my knowledge, being playable in a club doesn't make a song a hit. Nowadays, the metrics most people use are streams and sales. For me, personally, it's whether or not I want to listen to the song on repeat. I have always loved top 40s music and I'm 53 years old. In all of those years, if I loved a song enough to want to hear it over and over again, then it did well on the charts. It may not be a club song, but it is a hit song, by most people's definition. If you don't like autotune used stylistically, that's your choice but, nowadays, it's used a lot to alter voices just for the way it changes the sound, not to correct a singer's voice. I know that you aren't familiar with this artist, but the man is well-known for being able to sing well live, just like the other vocalists in his group. He's going to sing this song live on Jimmy Fallon on the 22nd. You should check it out.

Damn I had high hopes for your channel until I started listening to your comments. The song is a HIT. Hands down. THe only reason it *wont* get radio play is because Western stations dont put BTS into rotation except for the wee hours of the morning - if at all. Even for all english songs. Because BTS doesnt pay to play and I hope they never do. It's okay - ARMY will still be loud and proud. I'm a 58 yr old alt rock fan who has been in the BTS rabbit hole for 6 years. WHY? Because most current western music is shit and i was bored with how generic everything sounds here in the US. THen i discovered BTS and it opened a whole new world for me. When checking out artists from other countries perhaps learn a little about them? Or at least check your prejudice at the door and go in with an open mind that things might be different than what youre used to and thank goodness it is! good luck with the channel - maybe stick to reviewing generic sounding music or something with a lot of cymbals. it sounds more to your liking.

Jimin is apart of the bts group and they all did solo projects as well before they went into the military as well. Also jimin sings perfectly as well. When autotune is use correctly in a song it becomes perfectly amazing.

This song is going to break records!!! Jimin is one of the Seven members of the the most popular group in the world!!!! BTS💜💜💜 I understand you’ve never heard of any of their music but these young men are amazing together and Solo! They have been together for 11 years and are now serving their Mandatory military service in South Korea! The Oldest Jin just got out on June 12. Jhope will come out in October and the rest by June of 2025! Their fanbase known as Army is the largest in the world and growing! I’m now 60 and have been Army since 2017! I don't know why some people are so against auto tune. It was created for a reason. I understand if people don't like BTS, not everybody has the same taste or choice of style and that's what keeps the world interesting. What I do find hard to believe tho is that somebody who claims to be a DJ/producer didn't hear of a band who has multiple #1s on BB Hot100, BB200, smashing charts all over the world, selling out stadiums since 2019 in the US and everywhere they go, has Grammy nominations... I think what you have is a bias of your expectations of what music should sound like and so you aren’t very open to music that sounds different from what you are used to. That’s fine, but it’s a bit limiting. I personally like to hear different kinds of music. Jimin has been exploring a lot of different musical styles, as has the group BTS that he is a member of. I would avoid other Jimin and BTS music as it won’t fit with what you want to hear and you probably won’t enjoy it. You might find regular K-pop to be your style and if so, it will work for you because it tends to be very formalistic just like a lot of western pop music. It all kind of sounds the same. Yes I agree effects were used on Jimin's voice, I think to create a certain vibe. Jimin, as with JK, V and Jin, don't need autotune, they use it for an acquired affect. When they sing live they sound amazing and you can tell that nothing is 'added'. How many big names today in the music industry actually sing 'live'. You should check out BTS's 2019 MMA Awards ceremony, their performance and stamina .. Dionysus, their last song is amazing ...

Funny that you would say that "Who" wouldn't be played at a club when I just watched a video of a packed club, people are far as you can see, all singing and dancing to "Who". I do appreciate that you like the song overall. Look for the video Don’t Wake Me Up by Jimin. He is just playing around making up a song while one of the other BTS members plays the keyboard. You’ll hear his voice there. I LOVE his voice. This is a hit. I can’t stop thinking about it and his performance is over the top.

I think what he said is absolute nonsense. First of all, he should have looked up who he was going to criticize and he could have read a few things about him. Jimin quickly became the lead dancer and singer of the group. He achieved this by not being able to sing before his debut and becoming a professional in 2 months. Jimin is not a singer, but a contemporary ballet artist. He graduated as an outstanding student at a world-renowned school. As a producer, you should have noticed that the video, approx. it takes place in the 50s - 60s - 70s and it's like a character in a comic book or a cartoon. a video game character is also a possible solution. In that time and space, auhang is the right choice. Jimin's voice was still fantastic and if people like it, then it should be accepted. You should not judge based on sympathy. This guy put together two albums in less than two years. He was ready for the military. He commuted between countries. He put together a band and learned to sing. He was traveling with his friend and was also ill. This deserves praise. He is a person who has been preparing to be someone in front of the world since he was a child. Who practiced day and night and trained his voice alone at first. This is the key to your success. There are many singers who do not reach the level that he does. As a producer, you should see things. Jimin didn't come into the public consciousness with his video unannounced, but he worked hard for success.

Do not rate KPop according to your western pop standard, unless you understand the culture you do not get it. That autotune you are hearing are used in backtracks. I'm curious as to what you consider a hit song. To my knowledge, being playable in a club doesn't make a song a hit. Nowadays, the metrics most people use are streams and sales. For me, personally, it's whether or not I want to listen to the song on repeat. I have always loved top 40s music and I'm 53 years old. In all of those years, if I loved a song enough to want to hear it over and over again, then it did well on the charts. It may not be a club song, but it is a hit song, by most people's definition. If you don't like autotune used stylistically, that's your choice but, nowadays, it's used a lot to alter voices just for the way it changes the sound, not to correct a singer's voice. I know that you aren't familiar with this artist, but the man is well-known for being able to sing well live, just like the other vocalists in his group. He's going to sing this song live on Jimmy Fallon on the 22nd. You should check it out.

I'm a 58 yr old alt rock fan who has been in the BTS rabbit hole for 6 years. WHY? Because most current western music is shit and i was bored with how generic everything sounds here in the US. THen i discovered BTS and it opened a whole new world for me. When checking out artists from other countries perhaps learn a little about them? Or at least check your prejudice at the door and go in with an open mind that things might be different than what youre used to and thank goodness it is! good luck with the channel - maybe stick to reviewing generic sounding music or something with a lot of cymbals. it sounds more to your liking.

I don't know why some people are so against auto tune. It was created for a reason. Sometimes artists place it on their songs not because they need it or have a bad voice, it just they want to transmit a different feel. I personally like auto tune depending on the song. I don't see the problem on this song.
Actually I don't really care about hit song. If I like the sound, I like it. Cannot say about the hit yet as this song is just few hours old. Of course you won't hear it on the radio. Western radio hates BTS. They always get zero points from radio for Billboard charts despites request from their fans.

I understand if people don't like BTS, not everybody has the same taste or choice of style and that's what keeps the world interesting. What I do find hard to believe tho is that somebody who claims to be a DJ/producer didn't hear of a band who has multiple #1s on BB Hot100, BB200, smashing charts all over the world, selling out stadiums since 2019 in the US and everywhere they go, has Grammy nominations... I think what you have is a bias of your expectations of what music should sound like and so you aren’t very open to music that sounds different from what you are used to. That’s fine, but it’s a bit limiting. I personally like to hear different kinds of music. Jimin has been exploring a lot of different musical styles, as has the group BTS that he is a member of. I would avoid other Jimin and BTS music as it won’t fit with what you want to hear and you probably won’t enjoy it. You might find regular K-pop to be your style and if so, it will work for you because it tends to be very formalistic just like a lot of western pop music. It all kind of sounds the same. Yes I agree effects were used on Jimin's voice, I think to create a certain vibe. Jimin, as with JK, V and Jin, don't need autotune, they use it for an acquired affect. When they sing live they sound amazing and you can tell that nothing is 'added'. How many big names today in the music industry actually sing 'live'. You should check out BTS's 2019 MMA Awards ceremony, their performance and stamina .. Dionysus, their last song is amazing ...

Who practiced day and night and trained his voice alone at first. This is the key to your success. There are many singers who do not reach the level that he does. As a producer, you should see things. Jimin didn't come into the public consciousness with his video unannounced, but he worked hard for success.

He doesn't need auto tune but for this particular song it was the choice. He did an acoustic version of this with only a guitar and his beautiful voice. It reminds me of an 80s sort of song and I love it. Jimin's voice is like no one else's. Study him before knocking him. I can't believe you don't know BTS or Jimin. He's Asian and I wonder it that comes into play when people criticize him.
Mmm, nope, Asian artists and producers are making us work extra hard because they are AMAZING, that's why I love learning about Asian artists and most of my reactions are centered in Asian artists. #Respect #Jimin And, dude you gotta respect how Asian make their own music. We may adopt western pop but we do pop differently in Asia, especially for KPop. Do not rate KPop according to your western pop standard, unless you understand the culture you do not get it. That autotune you are hearing are used in backtracks. These guys KPop, especially BTS of which Jimin is a member, do not play mediocre. They are the most hard working artists in the world.
FYI, the biggest seller of physical albums at the turn of the century are KPop stars and lately, JPop (Japan) and PPop (Philippines) are catching up.

All 7 members are enlisted (with one having been discharged last month) and they will resume their group activities in 2025 after everyone has been discharged.
