Thanks GI for this presentation! I have been missing my Parrot Anafi for about 2 years now as I sold it to someone in NY or NJ. That was the best feature of the drone and I got pretty good at creating my own flight plans with it. I had expectations of some of my newer incoming drones to have or would be getting flight plans but it did not happen, including the Mini 3 Pro and the Nano Plus! Still pissed about it but what the hell! Glad to see you are enjoying your new environment away from the big city. Thanks again GI. I really miss my Anafi but I hated the reception on it.
I feel that way about the Bebop 2. I sold it a few years ago to get the Anafi. Wish I had kept it. There’s still nothing like it on the market with the tri-blade props, flight plan, flight performance and the darn thing even flips lol.
@@GadgetInspector I wish I had kept my Anafi as well. Until I get the Air 3, the only drone I have now that can perform a flight plan efficiently is my Mavic Air 2 because I can use the Maven App to do it. That is a great app as well. Cheers my friend!
Glad to see you are still at it. I learned a lot watching your channel. I sort of drifted away from drones. Mainly because there were not many decent places to fly them in my area. You changed cities, I just moved from New Jersey to Virginia this week. I'm sure I'll find a lot of nice places to fly, so maybe I'll get back into it.
@@GadgetInspector it's not free of snow, but they only get a couple of inches when it rarely snows. No more Northeast blizzards. I'm in the Virginia Beach area which is the Southeast part of the state. Just across the border of North Carolina. A lot of beautiful scenery. My daughter and grands have been living here for twelve years. I sold my Mavic pro, but I just may get the ANAFI, since I have a little change from the sale of my house. How does it compare to the Mavic in your opinion? And yes I ride a Harley.
I feel the same way about my area and GI has some great demonstrations on flight planning! Most of my military years were in VA and there are some pretty places there but if you are near any military installations, you may find it difficult to fly. Good news is that VA is big enough to drive out a ways and you'll find some nice Class G airspace.
@@Dr.Octogon Not really a succsessor more like a new professional piece. Anafi was a consumer product. At $4,000 the ai isn't geared towards hobbyists whatsoever.
They followed the big money just like other brands did. So sad. Oh well, why sell something for $400 when you can add a few things and sell it to a business for $4,000? Truly sucks!
Way to represent the Ananfi. It's good to see someone acknowledge a good quality drone at a decent price. I still have my Anafi, but the connection is it's achilles heel...imo. Great to see you still puttting out good quality content.
@@GadgetInspector The boonies are definitely where it performs best, I guess I m the oddball since thats where I do most of my filming 😁 Glad to see people still using this underrated little gem
I got mines years ago just because of your videos and especially after the flight plan videos you made that pushed the purchase. Last time I flew it was in March so its long overdue for a flight and might actually do a flight plan for old times sake. Really appreciate and enjoy your videos Gadget!
Parrot makes very nice quads. I still have the BeBop 2 but I haven't flown it in a while. I flew my Anafi about 2 months ago and it still has really good video quality. Very good job GI.
Just visited the UP for the first time this past weekend. Lake Huron and Lake Superior are up that way. Got my geography down now. Got a little Lake Superior history lesson on the Pictured Rocks boat tour.
Gotta love the Parrot Anafi! Love watching your drone videos on it, bro. I have one request though. Can you do a sound test between the Anafi and the Mini 3 pro? I want to see if the Anafi is still king in quietness. Thanks, bro, and God bless.
You got it. I’m planning on comparing the mini 3 and the mavic 2 pro, so I’ll include the anafi in the sound test. Long time man, hope all is well. Good to hear you’re still flying.
Hey there GI, Love your videos, I have the Anafi Parrot as well and love what I learn from your videos, thank you. Peace. I would love to see a video of how you create a flight plan around a point of interest. Thanks
This video I already did may help: ruclips.net/video/choB0J3x9iI/видео.html. That's the setup and then this is the execution of the flight plan: ruclips.net/video/BUgn7RqHh5Y/видео.html
Love this little old thing. I have two of these and use it every week for photography. My only issue is the weak signal when you're in a city with lots of interference
Not sure if you know this or not but go into the network settings in your parrot app and take it off auto. After that the channel graph will appear and you can select a Wi-Fi channel that doesn’t have much interference in that area. A lot of people don’t know about different Wi-Fi channels so many home routers are on the same 2 or 3. Also remember 2.4 ghz channels are going to give you better distance and 5 ghz channels are going to emit a stronger (more bits of info) signal. I’ve been able to fly in the middle of the Bronx, NY without losing signal and returning to home.
Glad to see the Anafi. Mine. I don’t fly it cause I feel like the batteries are loosing the charge to fast while flying. I get around 15 to 18 minutes. On all three batteries. Still $100 per battery. I would like a charger to charge them fast and do you think I should buy new batteries ? Thanks looking forward to see more videos with the Anafi.
15-18 minutes is not horrible, but you're right, it's not the 22-25 you'd usually get. Not sure I'd buy new batteries just yet unless they are puffing up or something. I know there are fast chargers out there, but I'm too worried it might damage the batteries.
Just started to use Anafi's Flight Plan and found your instructions the best on RUclips - great job! One question I can't find an answer to - when I plan a flight around a point of interest, is there a way to know the distance between the drone & the object? I plan to fly around several lighthouses in Nova Scotia, and they want drones to stay a certain distance away. Is there a way to estimate the distance when planning a course on Flight Plan? Thanks for your help.
Hey I'm glad the vid helps. I actually did a 2-part tutorial on flight plans in addition to this one: PART 1 - ruclips.net/video/choB0J3x9iI/видео.html and PART 2 - ruclips.net/video/BUgn7RqHh5Y/видео.html. In terms of distance from objects, there really is no way to do this in the app that I know of. Your best bet would be to do a test flight and establish distance visually and use that when setting up the flight plan. Hope that helps.
@@GadgetInspector Hope dies last :) They could even continue with bebop series. Imagine Bebop 3 without gimbal and with 360 camera, it could even be under 250g.
Hello from Greece i do own one anafi and i enjoy it please let me know when i make a waypoint trip parrot keeps the center in high from the first point till the second ..and the pich movement is locked.after the second point the pich is unlocked and can manual correct as does not follow the high of the poi mark. is this natural or is it a mallfunction of mine
A question for you: Are you able to adjust the RTH altitude? On another channel, the guy was unable to do that. He said that the RTH height maxed out at 20 meters. What do you say?
Yep, you definitely can adjust RTH altitude between 20-100 meters. As a matter of fact, if you're flying higher than that it will RTH from that altitude.
I bought the Drone Parrot Bebob 2 after seeing a review similar to yours. I am looking to buy a DJI mini 3 or Mini 3 pro now, can you tell me if there is something similar to this for these drones? The ideal thing for me would be flying a DJI MINI 3 with Parrot's FlightPlan lol. In your opinion is there anything that comes close to the functions and functionality of FlightPlan to use in a dji mini 3? thanks
Unfortunately, only the Mavic 3 series has waypoints. The Mavic 2 Pro and Zoom have it, but none of the minis, at least natively. There are third party apps that enable waypoints like Litchi. The times I have tried DJIs waypoints, I was still more partial to the Parrot flight planning.
Looks like a bit of pauses at each way point. Looks like Anafi did not remedy that. The Beebop 2 runs it's course smoothly doesn't it? So WT... with Anafi?
Hi. not sure if you covered this but what RID module do you use or will you use or do you suggest so that you can say you have one ( wo costing a fortune)?
What a coincidence! I'm about to go shoot the video for an RID module by Holystone. Doing that this afternoon. It sells for $89.99: amzn.to/4aNwB4U. I should have the video posted by this evening or tomorrow at the latest.
It’s sad that Parrot stopped making consumer drones… I think that if they would’ve made a sub250g ANAFI for consumers, it would have sold like hot cakes. Great video.
Looks like it would rth. I’m not brave enough to test it though but the notification that appeared would suggest that it does. The bebop 2 didn’t have a low battery rth and would complete the flight plan even with lost connection.
