Ryu's themes often give this image of self-improvement, constantly striving for something greater. But this theme doesn't do that, it makes it sound like Ryu is the last line of defence. This is the theme of 1v3 comeback. So good.
Even though it's another return of Ryu's classic SF2 theme, I respect Capcom for making the remix radically different. I honestly like this more than the one from SF4.

Here are a few of my favorite characters he’s fought: Cole MacGrath Terry Bogard Kazuya Mishima Ken Masters (because why not) Kirby Asura “American Box Art” Mega Man and all world-ending entities like Galactus and Thanos. I could list all 634 or so, but I would be lying if I said he didn’t deserve the “World Warrior” title.

Well, virtually every fighting game ever made has a “Shoto” style character that very closely mirrors Ryu. I think that’s a testament to how influential Street Fighter is, even to this day.

Not really. The Smash version feels more true to Ryu. Here, it sounds like club remix than a fighting theme for a guy like Ryu. Heck, even Infinite did this right IMHO.

@DarkKirby343 I think you are mistaken tbh, in the trailer you can see T. Bonne fight alongside Captain America, and Akuma is to recently revealed for them to have said anything yet. At least I haven't seen anything stating that they're evil.
@NextTheSquare The Hulk is a "Mighty Glacier" because he is strong and steady, but slow. Phoenix Wright is a "Lethal Joke Character", for lack of a better term. His combos are bizarre, but his playstyle is undeniably effective. Ryu, and any other fighters similar to him are usually called "Expies" or "Ryu Clones". Dante, Wesker, and Vergil could also be lumped in with the Lightning Bruisers. X-23, Felicia, and Viewtiful Joe are more examples of Fragile Speedsters. Thanks for reading!

@MrMK109 Actually the changes to his Shinku Hadoken and Tatsumaki are only available while Ryu activates his "Buff" mode (I believe that it is a new Hyper Combo for him). That basically is just that. A Buff.

Well, virtually every fighting game ever made has a “Shoto” style character that very closely mirrors Ryu. I think that’s a testament to how influential Street Fighter is, even to this day.

Not really. The Smash version feels more true to Ryu. Here, it sounds like club remix than a fighting theme for a guy like Ryu. Heck, even Infinite did this right IMHO.

@DarkKirby343 I think you are mistaken tbh, in the trailer you can see T. Bonne fight alongside Captain America, and Akuma is to recently revealed for them to have said anything yet. At least I haven't seen anything stating that they're evil.

@NextTheSquare The Hulk is a "Mighty Glacier" because he is strong and steady, but slow. Phoenix Wright is a "Lethal Joke Character", for lack of a better term. His combos are bizarre, but his playstyle is undeniably effective. Ryu, and any other fighters similar to him are usually called "Expies" or "Ryu Clones". Dante, Wesker, and Vergil could also be lumped in with the Lightning Bruisers. X-23, Felicia, and Viewtiful Joe are more examples of Fragile Speedsters. Thanks for reading!

@MrMK109 Actually the changes to his Shinku Hadoken and Tatsumaki are only available while Ryu activates his "Buff" mode (I believe that it is a new Hyper Combo for him). That basically is just that. A Buff.

All right, we have a changelog for the Capcom side of the roster now. It's only right that I start with Ryu:
- New move: Hado Kakusei. His hypers become super-powered in this mode (Shinku Hadouken, now Shin Hadouken, becomes a reflecting beam, for example)
- Can act immediately after a dash.
- Collarbone Breaker can be canceled.
- His Shinku Hadouken and Shinku Tatsumaki Senpukyaku (including their powered-up modes) can be mashed for additional damage.
