I’m giving my opinion about the pedal commander I watch a ton of your videos I am a big fan we’ve actually talked before. Just be careful I had pedal commander for a year it works great for about seven months and then I start getting engine warning lights and traction control light. Even after resetting it multiple times it continued. It’s unfortunate because I really enjoyed the product. Once this started happening my truck wouldn’t pass inspection. I had to take it to the dealership and have them reset the computer after that I got rid of the pedal commander. When I contacted pedal commander it took them a while to respond but when they did they wanted me to send the pedal commander to them and they would repair it. After hearing that I just gave up maybe I should’ve sent it but it seems like this is a problem that happens to some vehicles like my Tacoma. When I spoke to the technician from pedal commander he acknowledge that this is happened before to other people. I’m sure this doesn’t happen to everyone the pedal commander is a great product when it works unfortunately I didn’t have a good experience. Just giving my experience so that way people could have and understanding of what could happen. I’m sure most people don’t have this bad experience but there is a chance it can trigger lights light check engine and traction control on your vehicle and you won’t be able to pass inspection.

I searched each of the settings on all 4 modes and found that sport 3 gave the best overall feel for me. Much better than stock but not tire chirping in any way. Very little if any change in mileage.. Nice having the adjustability to fit driving conditions. However, I rarely switch it out of sport 3. I find it to be a good mod at $250, where can sometimes be purchased.

Love my PC. Had it on City +2 until I got 33" tires, then went to Sport +0 to compensate. Now I have the Ov tune, but still use it in City +0. The response from the combination of the two is night and day over stock. Without the tune, if my PC broke down, I would get another.

From what I understand, with the Eco mode, you have to use it backwards. So the negative setting -4 is the highest eco mode and the +4 setting is worst. I watched some other guy do a test and I believe that's what he came to the conclusion. Thanks for the video taco bro!

I don't keep it in sport mode all the time, but it's nice to have the option to switch back and forth to have some fun.
This is a recommended add to any vehicle.
I'm going to get on for my 2012 Lincoln navigator as well 😀

2023 Taco TRD Sport: The Pedal commander does 3 good things in all modes. 1. It makes the throttle responsive in the first inch of travel and throughout throttle travel whereas the stock pedal module does little until the second half of throttle travel. 2. The pedal commander changes the shift points to higher RPMs in moderate acceleration which helps time to/acceleration to hwy. speed. 3. In City mode only the pedal commander reduces the super-annoying gear searching at highway speeds. It allows the maintenance of hwy. speeds by adding a little gas without auto transmission downshifting, and has one additional major improvement: If fast acceleration is needed while already rolling with the stock throttle module you can't get the trans to downshift while trying to find the throttle position point at which it will downshift one gear. While traffic behind you is gaining quickly on you, with the stock throttle module you must then floor the accelerator to get the truck to finally GO causing it to downshift two gears which winds the piss out of the engine. With the Pedal Commander that bullsh!t stops: The transmission downshifts one gear with moderately heavy throttle movement, and will still downshift two gears if you push it further. Two drawbacks of the sport and sport plus modes: The gear searching at hwy speeds comes back; and if stopped and you want to pull forward a foot to line your window up better to your mailbox, teller window, etc. the truck does not just roll forward when you take your foot off of the brake. A little push on the throttle makes the truck leap forward. It's very twitchy in Sport modes. IMO City mode 1-4+ is perfect on the road.

I think you should get one, but of a different brand, and for much less. I actually ordered mine from Extreme Terrain. It's made by SpeedForm, and I feel is a better unit. I feel because the throttle body opens up sooner, it mixes air/fuel better, and more efficiently, and actually giving a bit more mileage. I drive in full sport mode, and have noticed this. Hope you can justify in this SpeedForm product from Extreme Terrain. I think at this price, it will be justifiable, and you will enjoy it. Just my thoughts. Again, thanks for the great vids..

@@Tacomaholic No, City isn't really an eco mode, as per the site
"City mode is perfect for daily driving. Many of our customers say that city mode allows the vehicle to accelerate as it should have from the factory. It gives you the response of an "old school" throttle cable with a 1:1 pedal-to-throttle acceleration ratio."
and the + and - are for sensitivity. "Each mode can have its sensitivity adjusted to 9 different levels.
The minus button “-” will light a red LED and decrease the sensitivity from -1 to -4.
The plus button “+” will light a green LED and increase the sensitivity from +1 to 4.
When there is no red or light LED lit between a number, you are in the base sensitivity setting for that
      mode."

I think the eco or high acceleration modes are to much to handle on the street most of the time. As it reacts a bit strange at the extreme settings.

Not sure its worth it, But I have one on my Tacoma. All I like about it is takes out the slop the free travel before anything happens. Like adjusting the free play out of a cable.
Run it on city plus 2 all the time Note just as fast as it picks up it also chops it off ass quick.
Helps the most when getting on the gas in a up hill turn, not the lag stock has when you give slight increase in pedal. So don't know that I'd buy again. Other brands lot cheaper, Pedal command the only one to reply to all my emailed question so that earned them the sale. The App is junk.

Personally I think the pedal toy is a waste of time. It is pretty much useless, as actual mods work better.
I would like to see you do engine performance mods.
Right now, all I have on my 4.0 is a throttle body spacer, an oem style AEM/K&N dryflo air filter, and the air injection pump filter replacement mod with a 3" K&N.
Considering a catback exhaust system, headers, hi flo cats(California smog "legal"), and some kind of tuning computer or re-flash to actually make it work.
Leaning towards magnaflow, because I don't need a totally raunchy loud exhaust.
If I could afford it, I would get a Magnussen SC system.
The next thing I actually need to do is replace the gasket, fluid and filter on my automatic trans, as well as upgrade my tires.
I also want to do a dual battery system with a rear battery relocation. Also looking into light weight lithium-ion car batteries like Antigravity Batteries.

If it helped with the massive pedal lag, it would be worth $500.....
I absolutely hate drive by wire!!!!!!
YOU --- smash the pedal (to pull into heavy rush hour traffic)
    TUCK --- ???
YOU --- (still smashing the pedal & waiting)
TRUCK --- Um, oh, wait, wait, do you want to accellerate?
YOU --- realizing it's time to abort just as the TRRUCK finaly responds --- Why didn't you say so, let's go! (Nearly causing you to be involved in a collision)
It's nearly as bad when you let off the pedal......

That’s not how they typically are. I’ve only driven one fly by wire style throttle vehicle that did that and it was a Mercedes. My Tacoma and numerous other vehicles don’t do that.

@@whatfreedom7 most of the time mines okay. I noticed that when it's really hot outside that it gets worse. Don't ask me why. I noticed that sometimes it'll be like you mash the pedal and you wait what feels like half of an eternity before the power kicks in by that point you're trying to slam on the brakes because the car is finally lurching forward but it's too late the opening you had is already gone. Then you add in the fact that you've got that massive Driveline thump and the lump in the automatic transmission and that just all compounds the problem. It's fun when you pull up the street light and it feels like someone has rear-ended you because of the way the transmission and Driveline bind up. And yes this is common because I've driven several Tacomas and several forerunners that all do the same thing. Some do a little worse than others
