That’s a nice little white pine and your going in the right direction but in the spring cut the top off to strengthen the rest of the tree. Keep your movement lower because it will be there for the rest of its life. you are always trimming the top off to keep the flow moving in the right direction. Always looking towards the future of your design and trying to anticipate your final look. I’m sure with your patience and the care you give your plants that this tree and all the other’s are going to be exceptionally beautiful. Great video keep them coming.

Thank you Micael. Come spring I will deffinetly be nipping the top, but it is going to be stuck in that pot till 2024 since it has a fairly decent root base already. Thank you for watching!

Well done Matt. Nice to see the backbudding on the trunk. Shows that the tree is nice and healthy. 👍👍

That thick wire did the job. Might have been a bit overkill for a tree like this, but it's a lot better than struggling with wire that's too thin. Plenty of options going forward with this tree. Hopefully it grows well next year. Nice job.

Thanks Tony. Definetly over kill, but I let it pretty loose. This tree isn't popping that wire out of place any time soon. 🤣 Thank you for watching!

Pines frustrate the heck out of me. ALL THOSE NEEDLES!
I agree with the comment that said you should get the movement in as low as possible. Having said that your bend is pretty low. Good luck with it. Looking forward to watching this develop into the future. Thanks, keep growing

Matt the needles kill me as well. I try to dodge them with mire than I get frustrated and just start plucking them all out of the trunk. Any thoughts on the rootbase? It is at a weird angle right now like the trunk is suspended in the air by the roots. I may have to sort it out in spring, but I don't really want to touch it because I had to do an emergency repot on it after the barn cats knocked the pot down it was in and it broke. Thank you for watching!

@@bobcatbonsai … the roots can become a feature as it developes. I personally prefer more of a traditional root spread but pines can handle and pull off a narley root base. I’d definitely hold off on root work until spring. Good luck
