Nah it made no sense, irl he killed him for having claimed he was "the second sultan" in public, show Ibrahim didn't really do anything to warrant being executed. And Hürrem was a hypocrite herself tbh, although I like her, with all this crying about being enslaved and her family dying she still doesn't do much to stop slavery, calls other people slaves (Ibrahim and Mahidevran for example) after she's freed, and even encourages slaves being purchased for her sons' harems, and when they seek her for help or complain, she tells them they should be grateful to be property of "the sultan of the world" lol

@@zeera7080 I could have sworn they put in the show Ibrahim referring to himself as the "Second sultan." In real life Hurrem actually had some influence when it came to trying to stop slavery. This entire show honestly slanders what we do know of the characters. In real life:
-Suleiman and Hurrem married after Suleiman's mother died.
-Afterwards Suleiman dissolved the Harem. He married concubines off to various pashas.
-He then had Hurrem and their children moved to quarters much closer to him.
-He also allowed her to on occasion (not all of the time) listen to divan meetings as long as she was hidden behind a curtain. She also would advise him behind the scenes, and he gave her diplomatic powers when it came to dealing with Eastern Europe - specifically her homeland Ruthenia and the surrounding areas. (Ruthenia was back then part of Poland, now it is part of modern day Ukraine).
This brings me to the whole reason I was compelled to write this post. Due to the diplomatic powers Sueliman gave her when it came to interacting with her homeland, she was able to curb slave trade activity in Eastern Europe specifically. I'm not sure if she was able to halt it entirely but she did come close. In the process, she struck up a correspondence with one of the Kings of Poland. I believe one of their correspondences has survived and been preserved.
I honestly would have loved to see the show stay more true to how they were in real life. We still would have gotten a good show after Suleiman dissolved the Harem. Instead of silly and petty harem backstabbing that got old really quickly, we would have seen Hurrem involved in real political intrigue. And then on the side we could have still had Mahidevran causing trouble and perhaps any of Suleiman's sisters trying to bring back the Harem, but failing. I don't know about real Hurrem's relationship with all of Suleiman's sisters, but apparently she was consistently on good terms with his mother and Hatice.

Ever since I started watching that series, from all of Suleiman's sisters, I liked Hatice the most. She was a beautiful person, both inside and out.
She was kind, warm, friendly, empathetic and she didn't lack in intelligence and culture.
Sure, she did harsh things, she did evil things and immature things. But I don't believe she ever turned evil. She was just a pained, misguided soul, wanting to hurt those she thought had wronged her. An ideal target for greedy, unsympathetic cowards like Mahidevran.😡🤬
It wasn't Hatice's fault that her mother never bothered to teach her how to handle, rejection, pain and suffering.
She deserved better. I wish she was married to Hursev Pasha from the start. He would be a husband who could love her for who she was not the title she was having. She deserved a proper motherhood. She deserved a nice, quiet life away from the intrigue, backstabbing and scheming of the imperial court. You could see that her mental health was declining when she lost her first child. (Actually before that. She constantly tried to kill herself because he couldn't be with Ibrahim) Notice she was clinging on to anything that gave her hope. Ibrahim was horrible for her and I felt like deep down she knew that but she poured her entire self into him that even when he cheated on her, she couldn't let him go. Ibrahim dug his own grave with his arrogance and hunger for power. The signs were there. She chose to ignore them. Then blames the whole thing on Hurrem because let's face it, they hated her since day one and wanted the Sultan against her. Hurrem was innocent but she fought tooth and nails to get where she was and they hated that she always came on top. Hatice was always vulnerable mentally and it didn't help that everyone around her was feeding her negative energy. This ultimately led her to do what she did. Had she gotten the help she needed, she wouldn't have went crazy. But back then, mental health wasn't a thing. Especially for someone of royalty.

Suleiman lived a glorious but very tragic life. He killed his best friend so his sister who was his friend's wife died of grief over him, then his son died of illness, then he killed his other son, and another son died of grief over his brother's death, then his wife, whom he loved so much died, and finally one of his sons killed his other son
Many sources say that at the end of his life he became a very sad old man. only the strength of his personality and his faith in َAllah made him not collapse from sorrows

Hatice deserved to die a traitors death. Her suicide was selfcenteredness. She blamed Hurrem for her husband's death even though it had nothing to do with her. Ibrahim was calling himself "Sultan" and even write letters and signed them as Sultan. Hatice has always been a mental case. I used to think she was sweet and innocent until she started hating Hurrem and blaming her for her husband's destruction. Hatice is a whiny little brat.

Now I understand why Allah took her son from her, ibrahim and revenge against Hürrem was more important to hatice than her children Osman and huricihan, she never thought that she had Ibrahim's blood, her children with her
She was so obsessed with ibrahim that she Never thought that if she dies, her children will become orphans at a very small age, they will be deprived of their mother, even if Fatma or Beyhan may raise her children but at the end they are all aunts and not a mother to them
Hatice thought that she won but her life and her death were so miserable despite being the princess of the strongest empire that time
