    🩵TOPICS WITH TIME STAMP 🩶
00:02 Chapter 6 focuses on the extraction of metals from nature using industrial machinery and setups.
    02:05 Understanding metals and non-metals
06:30 Graphite is a non-metal and is similar to sulfur.
08:43 Metals can be crushed into powder.
12:56 Metals produce ringing sound when beaten, while non-metals do not.
14:54 Diamond is a non-metal but is made of carbon.
18:58 Using a glue gun or wax, we observe the effect of hitting metals and non-metals.
20:47 Metals are good conductors of heat.
24:40 Metals are good conductors of electricity due to the presence of free electrons.
26:36 Non-metal, graphite, is a good conductor of electricity
30:36 Metals are generally silver gray and hard in appearance
32:29 Metals and non-metals have different physical properties.
36:10 Metal oxides can show both acidic and basic behavior
38:13 Metals and non-metals have different properties when they react with oxygen.
42:14 Metals react with acids to form salts and hydrogen gas
44:16 Metal reacts with acid to form hydrogen
49:05 The reactivity series determines the order of reactivity of metals.
50:57 Displacement reaction is an important property of the reaction between metals and non-metals.
55:57 Metals have more positive charge and donate electrons, while non-metals accept electrons.
57:48 Metal and non-metal react to form an ionic bond.
1:01:46 Metals and Nonmetals react by exchanging electrons
1:03:46 Compounds are formed by the transfer of electrons between metals and nonmetals.
1:08:18 Potassium (K) donates one electron and Oxygen (O) accepts two electrons to form the compound Potassium Oxide (K2O).
1:10:16 Ionic compounds have high melting and boiling points
1:14:45 Ionic compounds can conduct electricity in the solid state but not in the liquid state.
1:16:51 Salt in solid state does not conduct electricity, but in aqueous state it does.
1:20:45 Metals are extracted from minerals found in nature.
1:23:30 Metal extraction from sodium is expensive and time-consuming.
1:27:33 Different cleaning processes for different objects
1:29:24 Metals are divided into three types: highly reactive, moderately reactive, and less reactive.
1:34:08 Metals can be converted into oxide form through a process
1:36:39 The process of converting sulphide into oxide is called calcification.
1:40:36 Extraction of metals from oxides using Calcination
1:42:55 The main process for refining metals is Electrolyte Refining.
1:47:03 The video discusses the process of refining copper and a displacement reaction of iron with aluminum.
1:49:23 Alloys are a mixture of metals and/or nonmetals with unique properties.
1:53:49 This video is about metals and non-metals in chemistry

    53:35 Metals are electropositive elements
    54:27 Non-metals are electronegative elements
1:11:01 No, it is not possible to melt salt at home

45:12 all metals react with acid to form salt and hydrogen gas except nitric acid( HNO3) because it's a strong oxidising agent which oxides the hydrogen gas to form water.. but magnesium and mangnese can form hydrogen with nitric acid
