  • The conceptual and stylistic transformations initiated by Klimt and Schiele resonated with their compatriots and beyond. From Oskar Kokoschka’s expressionist outpourings and Christian Schad’s cool sophistication to Max Beckmann’s compressed metaphors and Otto Dix’s biting social critiques, artists across Europe responded to Klimt and Schiele by creating new and challenging works that continued to define avant-garde modernism throughout the first half of the 20th century.

Seems like the writer Chaim Potok was inspired by Aronson in his books My name is Asher Lev and The Gift of Asher Lev as it is about a boy/young painter that is very gifted, an orthodox Jew and is painting christian religion mythology themes. Very interesting.

This is the best of the internet, the ability to join in, to lectures/presentations like these..... but - big sigh - why cant American learn to pronounce European names correct? If you knew how disgusting it is to listen to this, flat American dialect of this woman (where is she from?), you would be ashamed of yourself.
