- My unboxing and weighing of the Veloflex Corsa Race Tyres in 23 & 25mm. Insanely light and fast if the Veloflex Master tyres are anything to go by! Anyone wanting to drop weight from their bike need to take a look at these!
I'd have done the same thing, kinda cool too, sorta hot rod having bigger boot on the rear. However, my suspicion would be 23 on rear and 25 up front is actually faster and would ride better. Just my thought. I have done just that. Theory being larger volume tire on the front was gentler on my hands. 28 up front, 25 rear.
Great video, thanks for uploading. I love geeking out on tyres. Let us know how they go and enjoy 😊
Hey Seymour, thanks for your kind comment!
I have Veloflex tubulars on all of my wheels, absolutely love them
I think they’re great too!
What kind of weight are the tubulars?
What did the 23 end up measuring at in terms of width when mounted?
Hi Jared. I have no idea. I don’t own a set of verniers. However, after years of using 23c tyres it didn’t look any bigger tbh! Maybe, fractionally bigger. Don’t expect much from a wheel with a 19mm internal width.
@@BikeLife154 Thanks a lot. I appreciate the info. I have been riding the GP5000 without any issues but have been very curious about the Veloflex Corsa Evo.
how many Km's do you get out of these tires? I have a pair of conti GP5000TL and have gotten about 1800km and they are starting to see significant wear. I race and train on the same wheel set so want a good tire all-round
Hi Zachary, instead of keeping these for the spring/summer I thought it would be interesting to see how they faired in the winter and early spring conditions. I put them on my Caad12 at the start of February and have done just over 2200km on them so far. The roads here in Jeju are really bad and I’ve also ridden them through a lot of grit and debris and not had any punctures! I don’t race, I’m just KOM hunting and riding for fitness. I’ve managed to get 3 KOMs, numerous 2nd places as well as top 10s with these tyres in the last couple of months. They are fast! And I would recommend them highly, but they are extremely delicate! Don’t expect more than 1800km if you’re racing. The back has already squared off and lost its tread and feels draggy, the front is better but has a small tear in the sidewall. If you want something more hard wearing, but heavier the Vitoria Corsa tyres are a great choice imo! I’ve had many pairs of those too. I’m gonna do a follow up video about the Veloflex tyres very soon!
@@BikeLife154 Thank you for the response, I would be using them as an all purpose tyre that would be used to race but also be used to do my training on. I would also be running them tubeless so that is another consideration for me as well. Thank you for the response!!
@@zasxdcf2 they also do a tubeless version but I haven’t tried them. Slightly heavier and a bit more robust. Hope they work out well for you if you do choose Veloflex!
you can still use Conti 4000 if you find them. they should be very cheap now. schwalbe one is a good tire to, maybe a bit more on the hard side, but they last good. pirelli p zeros should be good too. look for sales late in the season/winter and buy a bit for stock.
but if you are realy serious with racing and do it often, consider a racing wheel set with the real good stuff on it. like the vittoria Corsa Speed G+ 2.0 (TLR)
btw tube-type vs. tubeless is like 2 Watt/Wheel.
