I used to be a figma fan. Their figures were usually pretty cheap for what you got and they included really nice and unique accessories most of the time too. The articulation was decent in most of their releases as well. But after some time they stagnated, most of their figures nowadays aren’t very different at all from their figures 10 years ago, but the prices have significantly increased for no reason. Then you compare them to their competitors and it’s just not even close. Sh figuarts and revoltech have come out with much better versions of their figures for around the same price or cheaper. What made figma special before isn’t that hard to come by in figures nowadays. The only thing that figma figures barely have over other companies is that their paint and plastic quality is really good. But that’s a given when most of their releases are around the $100 mark. Stuff like their Metroid dread Samus shows that they can still do something amazing but clearly they don’t care enough to do so consistently. Sh figuarts isnt amazing all the time either but most of their stuff is good and much cheaper too.
I think the main thing with Figma is that they get licenses other companies don’t. That is the main reason to get figmas imo. I do agree that theyve become too stagnant.
I woke up to this review, and I gotta say, this figure isn't bad for my standards. I think Figma did a decent job on this figure. It has very good looks even if the articulation wasn't at its peak, accessories were really good too. Solid review Ace, great work.
Alright I'm buying the Figma version. The SHF painting is too messy and ugly. I bet that the plastic texture feeling like a cheap. The scale is also smaller.
This figure is good, I like the matte finish they gave it, the extra base for the hammer is great because you can make many good poses and I liked his eyes better, the SHF's eyes looked big
Sit down to eat my dinner and Ace dropped a review, eating good. Lol. For her hair, I used hot water to tame it down a bit. More faceplates definitely would have been cool, oh well. Great review.
Great review. Mine is arriving this week. Same deal. I was waiting for a couple of other figures to save on shipping. This will be the first character where I have both the SHF and figma, but hey…it’s Power.
Why is it so damn common for figures to have a leg notably longer than the other? Doesnt matter if its figuarts, figma, mafex, of the domestics I constantly run into this problem.
I do collect both SHF and Figma, but mainly just Figma, the SHF of recent to me feel cheap and look cheap. The glossy plastic and just the feel. Figma has always felt and looked good, but they just lack in articulation whereas SHF usually is pretty good. To me SHF feels like a model kit and looks like one too. Only wish Figma Power came with a serious faceplate.
Agreed man, I collect both too. I think with my jjk line I swapped my shf for the figma just for the main 4 coz they looked more anime accurate but in regards to chainsaw man, I think shf takes the cake. They look way better and if the gloss is an issue u can always just use a matte spray if it really bother you 🤷🏾♂️
The shf has less noticeable ball joints and the aggressive gloss on the coat brings it more to life since its one of those fed public service rain coats. Also the mold on the clothes is so much better and less stiff
Thank you for the review and the size comparison with shf chainsaw man….im definitely going for the figma power…I just don’t like that look of the shoulder on the shf
I have the SHF Chainsaw Man, which I love! But I ended up getting the Figma Power instead bc I just didn’t like how glossy and cheap looking the SHF Power looked. The matte paint, sculpting, and overall design is so clean, and very reminiscent of anime Power, so that won me over. Maybe I’ll get the SHF Power later on bc I do appreciate how closer it is to the Manga and all the articulation it comes with. I already preordered my SHF Makima and cancelled my Figma, but I might just consider getting both for her just to have variety-if I want a figure resembling the manga, SHF, if I want one that resembles the anime, Figma. Great review!
@@TheFakeBriskeh idk I’ve seen plenty of pics of SHF Power where her skin and face were hella glossy too, it just turned me off. If it was only the jacket being glossy, I wouldn’t mind cuz it makes sense how you explain it, but I also didn’t like how the jacket was sculpted around her shoulder either, even if it did help a lot with the range. I’m not hating on the figure bc I was close to purchasing it and there are places were it shines (pun intended), but I just admired the aesthetics of the Figma more. Like I said, I might get it later on, but I prefer Makima over Power and I would rather spend on two figures based on her instead.
@@Chenso2099Eh it’s definitely glossier than you’d expect but it’s a bit overblown. Personally I prefer the overall aesthetics of the figuarts cause it resembles the manga art more than the anime, which I prefer, they particularly nailed Power’s facial expressions and the colors like the strawberry blonde hair. Figma Power just looks… strange I guess? All of her faces come off strangely nervous which doesn’t fit the character unless a cake is involved, it’s lacking power (pun intended). And her hair looks like it’s molded and placed wrong to me, it’s like it was rotated 30 degrees to the right, which isn’t how it looks in promos, makes her hair look like a badly placed wig. I dunno it’s not bad but it’s lacking something for me and isn’t giving me any buyers remorse for going with Figuarts.
@@Ruben-ee1xn I’m glad you’re satisfied with the SHF, and i definitely agree with you that it very much resembles the manga and does justice to the design. Personally, I loved the anime as much as the manga, so I wanted a figure that resembled it, so I settled on the Figma. Having it in hand, it looks much better in person and feels great. The hair color, while not as pink, I think captures the strawberry blonde more subtly, which I prefer. I also don’t mind the hair sculpt, I actually like how dynamic it is and how it’s a little everywhere, helping capture Power’s messiness and wild energy. And the faces look fine to me and do a good enough job of capturing her personality with the exception of her regular smiling face which does look awkward. I wouldn’t suggest getting it if you’re feeling apprehensive and are already satisfied with having the SHF, but it does look better when having it in hand I will say that. I have no buyers remorse. One thing that I would’ve liked more of would be face plates. The SHF has more range in facial expressions, and Power is well known for her expressions and rambunctious personality, so I wish Figma came with more faces. Other than that, I’m very satisfied and having fun with it.
I do agree when it comes to the body articulation but face wise they’re going for a completely different looks if you read the manga this is straight up spot on

This figure really surprised me, not a big figma fan by any means but I really enjoy this figure, another dope review bro!

I’m definitely considering the SH Figuarts for Power. I don’t like the alternate faces Figma Power has. And yes. Her cat’s name is Meowy.

the matte finish is neat. the glossy look on the figuarts is my only issue with that figure.
but the hair and faceplates on the figma look weird
My SH figuarts power just came in today and I didn’t even know figma had one😳
R.i.p
I prefer this Power over that sh figuarts, the QC problems ruined the experience for many people who bought it

Can you review the sdcc evil ryu?
do you get plastic zip bag in this figma? mine not have plastic zib bag, when other figma always have it soo far
Eu quero😢
you said its all good and all but your selling her off. 🤣
Bro it’s a giveaway he probably has a extra
Yo
I prefer shf, overall. Though the paint is good, Figma’s face looks scared and has a weird smile.

I disagree. The only part where the gloss is aggressive is the jacket and its supposed to look like that since its a public service fed coat
