They have tried several times to rehab the beach in this area. Sadly, the erosion just happens too fast right here. I do know that the city offered $50k for this home and they were going to demolish it. The owner still had over $200k on the mortgage so they declined. They have federal flood insurance and they will get $250k when the house falls in the ocean. It's a sitting duck at this point.
@@Kcterry Also, the house with all the sand on the roof it wasn't always oceanfront. A long long time ago there was not just one but two houses in front of it. One fell in the clean and another was condemned and demolished.
It's gone now. Could've sworn it was here aug 2023 but there's nothing there now aug 2024. Does anybody know whether it collapsed or what happened to it.
Why can't it be rehabbed?!? Strange

Expensive temporary housing
My parents owned a house on Seagull drive. It was the house that was next to this one. They all got demolished except this one
It's gone now!

It was condemned and the town had it demolished and removed.
7 years since the other houses were removed
Curious are those other homes in danger?
I would say not yet.
Thank you again for this! Fascinating, yet a sad example of real-time climate change effects right here in our state💔
Was this at one time called the Banks house? (20+ years ago?)
Not sure
I found it in an old Ocean Vacations brochure from 2001. 4:44
