Hi, I hope you don't mind me dropping in? xD It does seem that for this song it looks like another version of Wagakki band. However, this isn't Sakiyama Tsubasa's first CD. For this song, they decided to use a guitar, bass and drums as a support in the back ground so it's kind of like back up singers in a way, except for the instrumental xD The main focus is on Tsubasa and the Sakura Men group who play the traditional Japanese instruments. And for his first CD "Gekkaya" they only had the Sakura Men group perform the instruments with no support. So this is a step up from their first CD and although it does seem similar to Wagakki Band in a way, those modern instruments are only for support and they barely have any sound throughout the song except only in a few certain spots :) And yes, the singer (Sakiyama Tsubasa) is cute :D

But the full MV won't be posted on RUclips because Avex want people to buy their products. So they only post teasers or MV previews such as this. You would have to buy his CD+DVD that includes the MV in order to see it. The 4 versions of the CD will be released on May 2nd. And the title of this song in Romaji is 'Rasen', meaning 'Spiral' :D

The bass, guitar and drums are just supporting instruments for that song only. The main instruments being played are the traditional ones (Shakuhachi, Shamisen, Koto & Wadaiko). Because for his first CD 'Gekkaya' that was all done from the traditional instruments. This is just a step up for his second CD but they have no actual role in the song. The supporting modern instruments can be heard in small sections of the song, but they don't create the actual flow of the song because the traditional instruments are the main focus of the instrumentals :) So although it may look like they're another version of the Wagakki band, it's not their actual intention since it's called Sakiyama Tsubasa with Sakura Men and only those who are apart of the Sakura Men group play traditional instruments :)
Pam Surowka Off course i don't mind man. Yes this might not be the exact same as wagakki but anyone can tell they are heavily inspired by wagakki. I mean they are from the same label and even this group use the exact same formation of instruments on the traditional section while the japanese instrument is not only the ones used in wagakki. Off course there will be comparation to wagakki as the band has a big commercial breakthrough and stands out with their very distinct sound. It's like a successful experiment from the label, off course they want to repeat it in a form of another new group. It's just the group themselves has to get ready to way more people comparing them to wagakki :)

So he's more on stage and he was able to make his first CD thanks to a stage he did last year. So I know a lot of people will compare them to Wagakki Band, but they're nothing like that since it's all traditional instruments, except for this song since they want it to me more darker since the name of the song in English is 'Spiral'. So it's kind of like a "spiral out of control" type of song. Hence needing the modern instruments to make it more intense :) I follow the singer of this band and I have their first CD from last year, so I can understand what Avex is trying to do with them and how they wanted to step up from their first CD which was a success :)
