Nice sled ! Using OEM will pretty much guarantee that you won't burn your sled to the ground. I like the wireless changer idea. Dual purpose. Your so clever with that stuff.
Good call!
TBH i think the G4 glovebox extension and phone holder is the better route here, this system would work amazing for the polaris guys though i think. A1 Gary
i think the glove box extension is ugly and about 3x the price of this setup. So its kinda for people that want a cleaner look and save a few pennies in the process
@@mudbrats you cant even see it behind a low windshield plus the added storage IMO is well worth the price since Doo hates giving us storage lol
@@andrewc9234 oh i know…. but i dont run windshields
What a great video. Thanks for your help and great instructions
It works well if u look back on my older ride videos this has been the go to setup. Had to replace the case twice since then but the charger and everything else is mint
Thanks Gary! 👍👍
A very interesting accessory! Thanks Gary!
You bet
need a video of doing this on a gen5
@@gjones5153 should be the same process really…
Sorry but I am 30 seconds into the video and I say bullshit I keep my telephone in my pants pocket close to my skin and the thing is an ice cube when we get off the trail at a bar restaurant etc. And I doubt that supplies heat and if it did it would be ridiculous amounts of heat it would need
Man U don’t watch many of my videos do you? I ran this for years on the XP with no battery on that sled. No issues at all unless I didn’t plug the USB into a battery pack when we stopped (the the phone got cold and died), it works man, no BS, a long as you have the phone charging whether plugged in direct or using a wireless puck like this, it stays warm, checkout the Quebec vids, Grant runs this on his XS and his maps stayed on in negative 30, he had maps on all the time where the gen5 kept black screening like they all do.
Can 100% confirm his set up works.. Before calling bullshit try keeping your phone plugged in.. stays warm and won’t freeze done it before I started buying sleds with a heated glovebox bag. I ride with gary and his son all the time and have never seen this set up freeze..
I added the same 12v USB charging port to my gen4 summit X with electric start but not getting any power at the USB ports. Is there a fuse somewhere that I can check? Do I need more than idle RPMs for it to come on? Seems since my sled has a 12v battery on board that it should work at idle
