Consistently articulate and well prepared. A weekly highlight for this follower. To think that this all started with conversations about volume of Wheat Crunches per packet.
Don’t understand the the hate for these 2 Gentlemen? Absolute class both of them compliment each other - I tune in every week lads keep it going and keep the content coming. Up the Reds 6xClub!
What hate?? Did i miss something?? This two are top top lads..nothing against anfield wrap but i stopped listening after these two weren’t apart of it anymore tbh..any hate..has to be from mancs or sticky puddings 😂
There was a few comments made on the live show about little things such as the title of the show and calling them sellouts bc of leaving Anfield Wrap - some people just hate out of spite not for the actual content, because they know very well the content is absolutely brilliant
Sometimes trolls masquerade as fans... Some trolls just look for live shows just because they're lonely and want an impact on other people. Just ignore them.
@@masudrujel774 I'm shocked at the people saying sellouts! Gareth clearly admits that he wanted to teach but that hasn't worked out the way he wanted and he's gotta pay the bills so he's taken this up while pursuing the stuff he wants to do. He's genuine, he's great at it and I think he still has his own following. So big up to him and Copey for putting this up. At least for us lot!
Great episode, lads. Like the variety of stuff you guys talk about, fun and serious. You do both so well. Robbo, sorry you’re going through a rough period. There’s a lot of people rooting for you.
The chat about osullivan great.and mental health..Liverpool football club.have distracted me of my demons.gave me beautiful memories thank you.xx ynwa 🙏 ❤😊
The fact that we have programs assessing referees decisions shows how bad the officiating and VAR is. If the officiating was up to standard these programs wouldn't exist.
I’ve just stopped following the broader aspects of the game, such as transfer rumors or rule changes, and really started using the off-season as a break from all things footy. I kind of think the organizations that run the sport think far too much of themselves - classic example for me is City punished because their fans booed the CL anthem; what is that about?
I think footy is a few years from introducing them roll on off subs at anytime, they'll probably try to add a few extra players 15 a side like on the field as a kid, belter show lads 💙
Sin bins have been used in the Northern League for the past couple of seasons and not one person I've spoken to likes it. Refs still get jip and crowded around, but similar to PL refs, they seem to pick and choose when to apply it. If a player is sin binned on 40, for example, they will miss the first 5 of the second half. It's crap, and it completely ruins the game.
Grealish was 40 metres out and in a foot race with 3 Spurs defenders, one of whom, at least, looked a hell of a lot quicker than him. Rivalries aside, I genuinely find it difficult to understand the depth of the furore over that decision. The Ref thought there was no advantage going to accrue to City and pulled it back, and when you see Grealish being chased by 3, then 4 defenders ... You can kinda see why. It's not like he's Mbappe or even Haaland in that position.
Next they're going to add treadmills to the sin bins so athletes don't cool down too much 😂 In all seriousness though, great show as always lads! Always enjoy hearing both your takes 😃
13:44 I've heard it was Clive on that fateful grassy knoll in Dallas. Speaking of which, d'you reckon the Zapruder film was the first iteration of VAR?
At least I lived through Shanks, Bob and the like before being in that 'doldrum' phase so to see un-tied come unwravelled in the way they have is indeed a constant source of amusement and entertainment. Also, that said, it's also VERY satisfying to have risen under Jurgen during their decline. Just sayin' (with a smug smile on me face and a warm feeling inside)... Shaking off trauma? A really simple way of this is like when you stub yer toe you shout FUCKING HELL at the top of yer voice and maybe hit a wall or summat and there you go, diffused!!...
There's been more rule changes in the last 5 years than there were in the first 150 years of football. It's an absolute joke, and every time there's a rule change the first thing you see is how it gets exploited.
One plus point is that a 20 minute sin bin can be used in addition to a yellow card in some situations when a ref isn't sure whether to show a red or yellow card. The red card is the nuclear option and they are sometimes reluctant to use it. Maybe a 20 minute dismissal would allow refs to punish bad challenges, but without ruining the whole game as a competition.
Anything in life that is simple, enjoyable, social and uplifting ,is being targeted complicated, and corrupted etc, stealing the jam out of our doughnuts. leave us alone .
In all honesty, it’s not a case of players, managers, pundits not understanding the rules, but interpreting them differently depending on wether the decision is for or against their side.
It wouldn't surprise me if the prem and sky sports are pushing these controversial VAR decisions and rule changes to keep the 'DRAMA' of football at a high for every game so more people and even non football fans tune in, to watch the RUclips clips, and get more eyes on the game for those controversial moments. Just think how much Sky sports RUclips channel makes from controversial decision analysis and replay content.
Hi guys, great content as always. Regarding the VAR sin bin and other crap they want to implement. How about you and spirit of shankley and other similar groups start a campaign to walk out or boycott certain games like you did with the ticket increases they tried to implement. Everyone soon followed you as it affects all football fans. I would suggest the same for the stupid 12.30 kick off times that we seem to always get. I think you two don’t realise how popular your voices are, especially as you can add TAW and the redmen plus numerous others into getting this off the ground
The United away record makes perfect sense when you have a group of players downing tools. They do it away because it's essier ro get away with it when the home fans aren't watching it live.
i'd bin Var, it spoils the matchday, you just can't celebrate goals in games now, sin bins will kill the game. Var is only a thing because people are making shedloads of money out of it. I won't pay to go to a game that has var now, it is bad enough on TV, especially as with us I always feel they look for any little thing to rule it out. Football is just too tense, the release of a goal when the ref points to the centre circle is long gone. TV want it won't be long till they have an ad break then come back and discuss the var, place your bets is it a goal? Ruined the game.
why did they stop the 6 sec rule and make it ref discretion, it allows manipulation. Check out how long Alisson wasted when he got booked last season less than 20 sec
At least when United were dominant, due to the Howard Webb effect and managers like allardyce, warnock, pulis and others who put out youth teams and reserves against them and accepted a 2 or 3-0 defeat and praised Ferguson to the hilt, we did not have to put up with Social media, United fans also have that to contend with, could almost make you feel sorry for them, naah ..... I'm old enough to remember them getting relegated in 1974, when we also won the FA Cup with an excellent display, would love to see them go down again but money has made that an impossibility in today's game.
Can´t be arsed with all that messing around with the game -Sin Bins.. What the…. And VAR is a mess, instead of get it sorted, they think about adding even more mess? Why? About inventing new rules every season - when this season started, it was said that they wanted to tackle timewasting. So the solution is, to add it to the injury time. I thought, ok, let´s think this through and imagine, it´s a game where it´s a draw, 90th minutes or so, what would I do if my team is the weaker one, for example? Waste time, and hope it gets you through, cause they rather add extra time instead of just book you. So, why, ffs don´t they just use the best tool they have? Give a fuckin´ yellow for time wasting. If players risk to get sent of for timewasting, they´ll think about it twice! That´s what cards are there for, you know? To use them, if necessary. Rant aside - great podcast, again! Up The TLC.
That VAR controlled games is good for advertising; possibly timed to them and vendors shuffling down the isle like they do in the States. They call it 'Time Out', or more like Wallet Out for the capitalist bastards running our world. Games played under the whistle of Pierluigi Collina never needed VAR, just good linesmen and respect from the players. Now how do you get that back?
VAR should be for big obvious things or things the referees back was to and not offside by the tiniest whisker. I reckon when the AI takes over, its going to be like var everywhere for everything. Its not going to take over or kill off humanity, its going to tie in down in endless minutiae.

It was advantage play however you look at it he was through on goal in that moment. Whatever happens after that doesn’t matter.

the pgmol have over complicated a very simple game with basic rules in the effort of hiding how shite their refs are
At least I lived through Shanks, Bob and the like before being in that 'doldrum' phase so to see un-tied come unwravelled in the way they have is indeed a constant source of amusement and entertainment. Also, that said, it's also VERY satisfying to have risen under Jurgen during their decline.

Proper football
Belter lads🔥
Listening to recording of the show. As in rugby, the captain should be the only person permitted to talk to the referee.
