Who did you use to plant the over crop with the seed drill? I’m having trouble finding someone. We’re in Merced.

Cover crops that are tailored to pollination and attracting beneficial insects can be adjusted to climate type of where you live. Adding in a cover crop mixture that also includes a wide variety cereal grains, annual grasses, legumes and others can be used with pastured raised livestock so you're getting fruits from the trees and raising livestock on the same land. It's HIGHLY beneficial trees to raise livestock under the trees because they benefit from the manure dropped by the livestock. You do have to be careful about what species you use and how long you let them stay in a particular area because some can become destructive, especially pigs, cattle can damage the trees by rubbing on them. Generally AVOID all goats because they will damage your trees by eating the leaves and buds. Sheep are generally considered to be the best and easiest to raise.
