  • Spain will go to the polls on Sunday.
The Socialists under Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez are facing off against the centre-right People's Party, under Alberto Nunez Feijoo.
But, it's the influence of smaller parties that could prove decisive.
Either the far-left or the far-right are near certain to be part of a coalition government - the first in Spain's history.
So, will Pedro Sanchez be able to maintain power?
And how's this being watched in the rest of Europe?
    Presenter: Sohail Rahman
    Guests:
Jose Maria Beneyto - President at the Governance and Society Institute.
Emily Schultheis - Former Fellow at the Institute of Current World Affairs and specialises in the rise of populist far-right parties across Europe.
Pablo Calderon Martinez - Associate Professor in Politics and International Relations at Northeastern University.

Why does socialism still even exist?

Decreasing worker rights, neoliberalism shipping once good paying jobs to the otherside of the world, climate change being almost irreversible now due to corporate greed. All these issues are either accelerated or ignored by the moderates parties and the right

@@elijah108 That's what I'm saying. Socialist countries failed to achieve all those things you mentioned so why still do you believe in it?
And socialist/left parties in America don't even talk about the stuff you mentioned anymore, its all about trans rights, story time hour with drag queens and more illegal immigrants into America.

Podemos is not extreme left...and Partido popular was coming to arrangements with Vox in Valencia extremadura andalucia, so saying that partido popular is a center party is a LIE. Pedro sanchez is going to be president because ALL left parties are going to give him support. Sumar and Podemos are lefties but not extreme, this gentleman is a Partido Popular voter 1000%. BTW partido popular has the history of more politicians in prison for corruption...

History does not repeat itself, the craziness still continues---Communist China, Communist Cuba, Communist Venezuela, all the failed "Peoples ""Democratic"" Republic" ...The violent Communist are still there, if they can't oppress their neighbor, they oppress their own people.
