  • First major rock find of the new year. Lots of footage of the beautiful pacific northwest ocean in the winter. You kind find this beach Oceanside Oregon where there is a neat cave leading to a secret beach. Lots of finds: jasper, carnelian, oregon blue lace agates and more.

    What a great beach. Last year after the January tsunami I went there and got multiple pieces of green jasper and druzy quartz that were baseball/softball sized. Any big weather event turns it from a very good rockhounding beach to a great one.

      I've noticed lots of folks have some amazing finds here. Even when we're there hounding, we've seen other people pick up some truly epic pieces. The king tides have really been fantastic for this beach this year. Love the jasper here.

      It may be my family's favorite spot of the year. Certainly our best winter finds. :)

    Thank you to my sis, and her wife, and all my family for enjoying this tradition with me(on camera), So thrilled to find other's who enjoy a good rock find as my family. Thanks for watching and let me know if there areas, or places I can investigate for you in the NW. This was Oceanside State Park Area, but on a future video, I will take you to Short beach, which is also a generous site--especially for carnelians!

    The green jasper at Tunnel Beach is amazing! It is my current favorite place to go.

      My whole family feels the same! We struggle so much every time we go rockhounding, deciding between option 'A', or going to Oceanside again. I have showcased it in at least 3 videos I have shared, and you are so right--the jasper deposits there have to be the best I have come across. Thanks for checking out the channel!

      This one is an Oregon blue lace agate if I'm not mistaken. My sister is going to slice it clean to really get a good view of all the banding. I'll be sure to post. Thank you for watching. Where did you find yours?

    Take more time when showing what you find. 1-2 seconds isn’t enough on the smaller stones. Good pic and time on the bigger blue banded find.

      Thank you! This spot seems to always have great finds, and it is so beautiful. We went last weekend again and found a few amazing blue agates(good sized too). I'll try to feature them this weekend. I appreciate your comment!

    What do you do with the rocks after you collect them?

    • @rockstarsmediachannel
      @rockstarsmediachannel  Год назад +2

      Hi Josh! I get this question a lot, and I am excited to answer. There are a several things I do, and I am going to post some videos showing all the great ways you can craft and immortalize these beautiful specimen. They are like playing cards, or star wars toys too; a lot of us just collect them to enjoy and appreciate whenever we want to bring them out, and others display them probably on shelves and in display cases. Look for future videos to show you all the other ways I feed the obsession. Thanks for posting!

      Very True! We always try to time our beach hounding "chasing the tide" by arriving a couple hours before the lowest point. Great clarifier! Thank you for watching.
