Wow! Nice video. I have got to get over to Texas one day because that Gray banded Kingsnake was amazing. Also liked the Rat Snake. Wish we had those where i live.
@@reptiliandiaries to this day, we haven’t seen any in Nuevo Leon, could be potential distribution area but we haven’t seen yet. There are some reports in Coahuila and Durango state, 3 hours drive from here
This is my second time watching this series. I watched last year when they first came out, and now again because Im going to West Texas in couple weeks. What time of year did you go? I also dont usually ask for locations, but I was curious if you wouldnt mind sharing the location of the creeks you searched for softshells. Im a big turtle guy and would love the opportunity to see some. If not I understand, but would still love to here the time you went. Also curious about moon cycle. Thanks. Keep up the great videos, yours are the best field herping videos out there.
Great stuff as always! I really appreciate all the photography advice you give, thank you! I’m looking forward to my first real camera myself soon so it’s all extremely helpful 🙏🏼🤙🏼
Plenty of people capture animals and never return them to the wild, so on occasion, yeah I do keep them overnight to photograph. Not a bad move at all.
GBKs are literally the most boring of the kingsnake SP. Blair's phase is alright I guess, I'd still take a speckled over that, and I've seen a ton of those and zero alterna. 🤷 they just don't do anything for me. Trans Pecos and Baird's rats are dope though.
You have the perfect Photo Artist.
Badass vid bro!! 2 alterna on y’all’s first trip!!?? Awesome luck 🍀
We were psyched!
Fantastic!
Awesome video as always Frank! The long awaited alterna made their appearance! 😅
Hahah, took a while to finally get this one out:) thanks for being here!
Great video! I love those reduced orange texan alterna
Was really rad to see them in wild!

Hard herping but well worth it:)
Amazing how variable alternas are, some of theam very similar to the ones we see in Coahuila and Nuevo Leon deserts, great video new sub 👍🏻
Seeing alterna in Mexico would be a dream! Thanks for the kind words!
@@reptiliandiaries any time guys!! Whenever you like
Don’t tempt me dude, I’m 100% down! Have you seen Coleonyx reticulatus down there?

Awesome video! I’m going to be in West Texas the 13th-19th of next month. It’s gonna be my first time out there, any advice for herping that area?
Stay up late! Generally herp til 4-5am. Be prepared to see other herpers cause there’s lots. Wear your vest and walk cuts continuously.

@@reptiliandiaries Not bad at all. I do this plenty, and have re-encountered/recaptured the same animals year after year.
