  • The Tommy Tiernan Show - Season 8 Episode 1
Tommy returns with guests Dylan Moran, Sarah De Lagarde, Sean Ronayne, MC Fred Cooke with music from Huun Huur Tu
No stranger to television, Tommy has appeared on some of the biggest and most established chat shows in the world. But, for some time, Tommy has wanted to host his own TV chat show - one with a difference. It has all the ingredients of a normal chat show but there was a catch - neither the host or the audience know the identity of the guests until they walk out on stage!
The Tommy Tiernan Show is recorded in front of a live audience and will include stand-up from Tommy, live music and plenty of chat….. with a little help from fellow comedian Fred Cooke thrown in

I do wonder if Dylan sought Tommy out in this manner on purpose, for some comfort or for a familiar 'safe' space while he is going through a rough time. When he was announced as the surprise guest you can visibly see Tommy going through a bit of a loop, there was several emotions happening all at once from being taken aback, to being concerned, to then being nervous, and happy, and also cautious to name a few.
They are old friends after all...or so I believe, so it would make sense on the face of it.
It's also a way for Dylan to indirectly address the fans and let them know he is aware of his behavior, and that (in his own words) he is feeling rather stupid about it. Although, he needn't feel that way, we are all human at the end of the day.

wonderful to see the full episode finally. Thank you for finally opening it up as a full episode. The earlier snippets it seems gives a different impression. In this, Dylan appears his usual self, honest and realistic but also a natural born creative with some excellent insight and advice. I too feel pain when I don't create. It's nice to know I'm not the only one. A beautiful, sensitive, creative, original, firey comedian, thank you for giving this interview Dylan and letting us into your life. We think a lot of you too.

Pity Dylan Moran isn't funny anymore. His shows are now like 30 minutes and people walk out

That's odd- I've been to many of his shows, including his recent tour, none where 30 mins long and nobody walked out. Which show were you at?

@@bec9255 There was a number of appearances during the 'We Got This' tour (most recent one) where he didn't seem to be handling things very well. He basically admits in this interview that he fkd up and it was too much at once, but I guess you can hardly blame the guy for wanting to stay busy if his personal life is up sh*ts creek without a paddle... or an anchor, as Tommy puts it.
I do hope he gets through whatever this all is and figures things out.
      Guys a class act

I saw him play last year in Australia and the show was disappointing. Dylan definitely wasn’t on top of things.

@@pea5062 I know I myself ended up flooding myself with busy-ness when COVID hit, trying to stay sane, and I burnt myself out even worse than ever before. I resonate so much with beautiful Dylan Moran through this interview. His aspiration to live in the woods around nature is a great aspiration. All the best to him in that.
