From my lifetime it would be Harry Kane but so many greats of yesteryear like Mackay, Greaves, Hoddle, Blanchflower, I wouldn't begrudge anyone of a different opinion on it
Hoddle was pure genius. Revered around the world by the footballing greats but wasted in an England era preoccupied with workrate and crunched tackling that got us nowhere. Platini said that if Hoddle was French he would’ve got 150 caps. Cruyff gave Hoddle his shirt in 1984 calling him the new Master. Maradona lavished high praise on Glenn when he played with him in the Ardiles testimonial. Wenger to this day still says that Glenn was the most skilful player he ever managed and was truly world class. These are the opinions of football and greats and have to be respected. Glenn was a genius , years ahead of his time, in the hundreds of millions of pounds if on the transfer market today, wasted by the FA and they should hold their head in shame.
1. Greaves - an utter Genius - not only the best striker Spurs ever had, also England 2. Hoddle, another Genius, the best midfielder we ever had, wonderful 3. Pat Jennings, the best Goalkeeper we ever had, by far 4. Harry Kane - outstanding, not at the genius level of Greaves, but fabulous goalscorer 5. Dave McKay, midfield general
After recovering from a bad injury, Martin Chivers was a great player for about 3 seasons. I always felt he had more to give. As for his long throws, he could reach the goal from an effortless standing start rather than the windmill arms style of Chelsea’s Ian Hutchison. People like to knock Spurs but they have had some fabulous players in my lifertime.
Maybe Glen was too young to remember, but John White was one of the greatest midfielders to ever grace the game. A vital member of the Double's team of the early Sixties and one of Scotland's finest. As an LFC fan and a Scot I always hoped he would come to Anfield, but sadly he was taken from us far too early, R.I.P.
I’ve been supporting spurs from 1967 when my dad took me to watch fa cup final against Chelsea, so i’m glad I saws around when they were winning most of there cups in 60’s, 70’s and 80’s
My Dad, a Newcastle supporter like me, always told me that Jimmy Greaves was the greatest striker he'd ever seen. Nice to hear Glen mention Martin Chivers too. He was way better than people realised, he was great with his feet. Very like Peter Withe.
Fc Internazionale supporter here, but i ever had great behavior for Spurs because i had seen Glenn Hoddle when i was a kid and i was in love.. in 82-86 when we took Rummenigge, i hoped taking Hoddle instead of Brady, Hansi Müller, Coeck, Scifo, Prohaska..
Gutted to have only caught the very end of Glenn's playing days, when he was player/manager at Chelsea. Most of my knowledge of his greatness was through anecdotal evidence from my dad, and, thankfully, RUclips.
No surprise, he left Gazza out and did the same for that World Cup squad, which was another mistake. I respect Hoddle he obviously knows his stuff and he was so good for the England team when he initially got appointed, but he has some strange ideas and is too stubborn for his own good.
Spurs are the biggest champagne charlie club in england Psg are the european equivalant Teams who attract good players, but cannot win anything special
Sorry...but Pat Jennings was pheonominal and easily their best ever goalkeeper...only reason he left Gazza out was because Hoddle was and always will be jealous of him!
Delusional nonsense from Glenn about the bottom teams in the premier league and how good they are. The teams in the bottom levels of the EPL are getting less points than they ever have and they're way less competitive as they all play the same style as the top teams just were worse players so it's easier for the good teams to play against them than it used to be
Jimmy Greaves won three trophies at Spurs including a European one...the first English team to win European silverware. Hoddle and Ardeles won three also including a European trophy. A trophy-less Spurs is simply not valid when talking of the historic Spurs.
Who do you regard as Tottenham's GREATEST ever player? 🤔
Granddad wouldn't ever stop talking to me about Jimmy Greaves... So as an Arsenal fan, I'd have to say Sol Campbell
@@ukArnz 😂😂😂

Micky Hazard. The man could send a 40 yard pass to hit an upside-down golf tee without knocking it over.
@@AntonyInnes Factory of talent 👏

That's the happiest and most relaxed I've ever seen Hoddle be. Good to see.
Could listen to Glen talk about football all day.
The Greatest Goalscorer Of all Time Jimmy Greaves
1. Greaves - an utter Genius - not only the best striker Spurs ever had, also England

3. Pat Jennings, the best Goalkeeper we ever had, by far

@@footballsgreatestpod We sincerely hope so.
No one comes close to the great Pat Jennings! An absolute legend. He'll always be the best ever. Just cannot understand anyone who leaves him out.

Nice to hear Glen mention Martin Chivers too. He was way better than people realised, he was great with his feet. Very like Peter Withe.
Pat Jennings is the best keeper we ever had and arguably the best the world has seen. He has to be in any list...
Time to binge! Anymore Jeff?
I had a goal drought once...it was the worse 15 minutes of my career- Jimmy Greaves.
Greaves, Hoddle, Mackay, Blanchflower,England
Another 3 great choices.

Jimmy Greaves was produced by Chelsea...indeed Chelsea produced two of three of Spurs highest ever scorers...Bobby Smith being the other...
Would Glen be in most people’s top 5 ? I think he would, a true great 👍
Ahead of his time wasn't he
He left the season I started following football but caught a few clips of him at Monaco at the time and he was excellent
Glen would surely be in everybody else's top 3, let alone 5!
@@mikepotter2561Hes in my top two. Jimmy and Glenn.

feeling Blessed that I have seen all these players play in my years supporting Tottenham.
Some talent has played at the Lane over the years, that's for sure
Pat Jennings best goalkeeper I ever saw at spurs
1. Pat Jennings 2. Sol Campbell 3. Freddie Cox 4. George Hunt 5. Vic Groves😁
Swindon greatest too along with Ardiles and Macari. Only criticism is it could have been longer
Greaves, Mackay, Perryman, Hoddle, Kane
Greaves
Bale
Son
Hoddle
Villa
Another 2 greats. I wouldn't have Ricky on a greatest players list, but possibly the greatest goal!
Hoddle thinks ray clemence is a better keeper thn pat jennings he hasn't got a clue thats just outrageous
And you have no manners..
I think that's coloured by having played alongside Clemence for Spurs and England. But Jennings is only comparable with Banks and maybe Yashin.
Yeah because I’d listen to a nobody rather than a world class footballer. Jesus🙄🤣🤣🤣
Didnt Chelsea develop Jimmy Greaves
Stevie Archibald
Jimmy Greaves

OMG my dad always said Martin Chivers was top top draw his top 3 included him Dave Mackay and Glenn
''The only reason I left Gazza out'' force of habit.
Greaves
Gascoigne
Bale
Kane
Jennings
Some goals in that five a side
No Lineker?

Jimmy Greaves the best English player ever? Certainly in the conversation.
Greaves was "produced" by Chelsea, not by Spurs 😘

Did he say he wasn't their best ever goal keeper? Don't talk stupid,Hoddle isn't jealous of Gazza,he's got nothing to be jealous about.
Hoddle was twice the player gazza was.
Don't think he named a keeper, I imagine it would've been pat if he had
Easily 👍 @@jc-16.
@@jc-16. Then why is Gazza always in the conversation of England's greatest player, yet rarely Hoddle is?

Yeah the length of time he was at Spurs.
He didn't want another hotel room being wrecked?😋
My favourites are probably:
Hoddle
Ardiles
Waddle
Kane
King
Tough list to settle on, isn't it
Gazza
Hoddle
Ginola
Greaves
Bale
@@joestaxx2771 Greaves was before my time. If I was an older gentleman of your/Jeff's(!) vintage, I'm sure he would've made my list.
Ledley's another great. For me Waddle is the next level down from 'greatest ever'.
Jimmy was an unbelievable talent, for Chelsea (pity they got him first!), Spurs and England.
Harry Kane isn't even in the top 5 players that Hoddle played alongside at Spurs imo
In YOUR opinion… Kane is definitely top 5
imho the HurriKane has become a better player than Chivers (tho' neither would be in my top 5).

Surprise surprise leaving gazza out.
Hoddle
How would he walk into City’s team if they have Haaland?
