Gotta tell ya… and you may get embarrassed… but this 70 year old chick is STILL groovin to Hendrix. He was my #1 guy growing up. My parents didn’t get it. But I sure did. And like you, I may not understand what he’s trying to say half the time but it didn’t matter. I was immersed in his phenomenal guitar playing.
A member of the infamous “27” club.. famous rock stars who all died at 27 yrs old…Jimi,JanisJoplin,Jim Morrison (The Doors),Kurt Cobain (Nirvana) & Amy Winehouse…
Out of the dozens of killer Jimi songs. . . try the Woodstock version of "Voodoo Child". You'll see a man born to do this; completely part of his guitar and his music. Unbelievable!
Him and dave mason went from the bar hanging iut in england and dave said jimi you gotta record this song and jimi said ok thats dave playing rhythm guitar they recorded all night
After, Bob Dylan, heard the Jimi's version of his song, he played the Jimi's version😂The proof, why Jimi is the greatest musician, composer of the 20th century....😂❤
I never worried too much about lyrics if they were hard to understand: I figured I’m not stupid😉 and mystery is probably intended and can also be pleasurable: we don’t always have to know exactly what everything means -we can just feel, which you’re good at 😎 And for me, most often I’m more interested in the SOUND of the voice as another musical instrument, which it is. This was my favorite album for two years when it was new and I know every note 😄 >> Promise yourself you’ll listen to “Rainy Day” from same album, it is not the Hendrix everyone thinks of: it’s stunningly, beautifully bluesy, you won’t believe how great it is. ✊🏽
Not live. 3 guitars going here. Jimi played 6 string acoustic and electric, while Dave Mason plays 12 string acoustic, on this one..Bob Dylan wrote the lyrics.
Most innovative and influential

Back in the 70s when we were growing up the lyrics were cooll and everything but it was all about the music
I Love the fact that you're doing Studio versions first !
You can't know Jimmy until you have heard his rendition of the Star Spangled Banner. It changed everything. Check it out...
Jimi brought so much creativity and innovation in his playing...he used techniques we hear today, but then they were ground-breaking :)
You should just check out the whole 1967 Monterey Pop Festival. It changed music forever.
Listen to the whole album it's amazing!
Jimi Hendrix is awesome

It's ok if you don't totally understand the lyrics this was a Bob Dylan song and he's a very poetic type of songwriter
Bob Dylan wrote this song, not easy to say what its about exactly, back in the day we didn't worry too much about what the words mean.
played left handed guitar upside down
If you think thats a orchestra ppl ...

Yeah, but he cheated. He had a British rhythm section. 😄 (I love this version)
