What a gorgeous color way! I grew up watching my Grandma crochet. I loved her cooking, homemade bread, noodles, cookies, and we’d drink hot tea together at her kitchen table. She was a safe, warm person for me and showed me so much love! 💕

About 22 years ago, just before a complex surgery I needed, a woman from a friend's church gave me a luxurious purple and teal prayer shawl that she crochet. I didn't know her. She had made it for me upon hearing from my friend about my health stuff. Everyday I wrap myself in this shawl as I sip ☕ and start to wake up. That woman years ago stitched so much love that I still feel and makes a difference to my ordinary life and I am eternally grateful. I try to crochet blankets for friends and folks in her example.

We meet on Saturday mornings, run/walk, and then have coffee and breakfast together. A few of us are going on a craft retreat next week. She was born in 1897, survived the flu pandemic and was around 15 when the Titanic sank! She was so sweet and always had a smile for everyone. She would read Charlotte's Web to me when I was a little girl. She passed away in 1992, at the age of 95, and I was 25. I'm blessed to have had her in my life for as long as I did! She would have loved the heart design in this wrap. 💝

My Grandmother taught me to crochet when I was a child. I lost her 34 years ago this month, when she was 92 years old, and I miss her every day. She was an expert at doilies and I still have some that she made. I treasure them. I'm so thankful for her love and for her giving me a lifelong hobby.
This pattern could not have come at a better time. My dad, who was the joy of my life, passed away just a few weeks ago and I'm devastated. My Gram was someone who meant a lot to me. She never talked down to us, would treat us like relevant people, but still commanded respect. She made a place for each of us(I have a lot of siblings) and let us get snacks. She would take us shopping, and even if she didn't buy us something, we still got to be part of whatever she was doing. She taught me how to quilt, play Mexican Train, Apples to Apples, and Acey Ducey, and encouraged me to pursue art. She passed six months after my dad, who was also special to me. Like the song says, "The hardest part of growing up is watching time take everyone you love...."

She would read Charlotte's Web to me when I was a little girl. She passed away in 1992, at the age of 95, and I was 25. I'm blessed to have had her in my life for as long as I did! She would have loved the heart design in this wrap. 💝

My Grandmother taught me to crochet when I was a child. I lost her 34 years ago this month, when she was 92 years old, and I miss her every day. She was an expert at doilies and I still have some that she made. I treasure them. I'm so thankful for her love and for her giving me a lifelong hobby.

This pattern could not have come at a better time. My dad, who was the joy of my life, passed away just a few weeks ago and I'm devastated. I'm going to make this shawl while thinking of all the love he gave me and then I'm going to gift it to my cousin who is getting married this summer, her father passed a few years ago and won't be able to walk her down the aisle. I bought some yarn a while ago from your shop to make her a shawl and was exploring various patterns to use it on but now I can stop the search! The purple hues in the shawl remind me of my purple-loving mother, who as I age I appreciate and revere more and more. I hope I'm as young and vivacious and generous as she is when I'm 82!
My Grandma took care of me from infant to to 3 yrs old while my parents worked. She taught me to crochet, love flowers, and to have red gingham curtains in the kitchen. Her life

Thank you for this lovely pattern and yarn giveaway. My grandmother crocheted, and I learned to crochet from her almost 60 years ago. We used crochet thread and steel hooks, and made many filet crochet designs which is what this pattern is basically.
This is a lovely shawl and the yarn is luscious. There are so many people who have stolen a piece of my heart. My parents and sisters, my husband and sons, my grandsons, other family and friends. Picking one would be impossible and I am so blessed to be able to say that.

I have a dear friend who I call sister, because we have similar interests, she supports me in any way, she's full of love and kindness, we help each other and we laugh a lot. Yesterday, I taught my husband's friend how to knit. His wife told him he won't be able to learn, but after an hour of casting on, he nailed it! He'll knit! He bought Oxblood Buttery Bulky a year ago and he had someone knit him a beanie and he wants to make more! I'm excited to teach him.

My Gram was someone who meant a lot to me. She never talked down to us, would treat us like relevant people, but still commanded respect. She made a place for each of us(I have a lot of siblings) and let us get snacks. She would take us shopping, and even if she didn't buy us something, we still got to be part of whatever she was doing. She taught me how to quilt, play Mexican Train, Apples to Apples, and Acey Ducey, and encouraged me to pursue art. She passed six months after my dad, who was also special to me. Like the song says, "The hardest part of growing up is watching time take everyone you love...."

This shawl makes me think of my sons. In church, when I wear a shawl, they love to snuggle up with me and pretty soon they’re wrapped up in my shawl and I have nothing left! 💕 I love my boys so much; I am so proud of them for the wise choices they’re making. My mom. I was her caregiver for 8 years. The last few months of decline I began crochet again as I sat with her. She gave me a wonderful tool to soothe my spirit. She is the one who taught me crochet when I was young. She's been gone two years and I miss her so much. I'm still crocheting, with memories of mom, my beautiful angel.

My grandma was an avid crochet creater. She taught me basic stitches that stayed with me even though I gravitated to knitting for over 50 years. Now I love to crochet just as much as knitting! If she were alive today, she would be so happy to see how crochet and yarn arts have flourished in our society. 🙂
