Nice video as always. Very informative. I've been wanting to do some riding on that trail from the Woodsville to Marshville section, and possibly further. Thanks for the video.
Thanks for sharing this ride. It looks like you had a good time. I think I will do it this year in early spring before black fly season. In 2020 I rode from Beecher Falls to Pownal, and last year the diagonal from Alburgh to South Vernon. You would enjoy both rides. I preferred NE-SW.
First of all, thanks so much for taking the time to watch! Much appreciated. It was a lot of fun. Before black fly season is a must!😂 I will try that ride for sure! Thanks so much for the suggestion. Will do. Best wishes my friend.
Really enjoyed your video. Nothing like a great bike-packing trip. Have you ridden the trail recently? Curious about the condition of the trail. I am thinking about riding it this fall.
This video was filmed a few years ago. There have been many improvements since then. Resurfacing, drainage and new bridges. It's a wonderful trip. You should certainly go for it. Have a great time and thanks so much for watching.
Wow great ride👍 congratulations. I would have two questions. Is there a gpx of this trail to put in my gps. You rated has how much percentage of asphalt vs gravel. Thank you in advance.
Not sure about the gpx file. I did use a handle bar mounted GPS. I just made a route on my computer before I left and uploaded it to my Garmin. As far as gravel/pavement percentage. I would say about 50/50. Just a guess though. I can say that the Cross Vermont work crew has made many new improvements since I made this video. The trail is very very nice and nothing is very steep since it follows and uses old rail bed. Thanks so much for taking the time to watch my friend. Best wishes and good luck if you give it a try! I highly recommend it.
The single track portion of your ride… Is that on map or did you go off map for that? i’m trying to decide if I should bring a gravel bike with 38 mm tires or take my mountain bike. Thanks
The sigle track is part of the trail. But it had been upgraded a lot since I filmed. A gravel bike would be perfect. The trail is mostly gravel. Some pavement and bike paths. Some vast trail, old rail bed and a very small amount of single track but enough to keep it exciting. Have a great trip my friend and thanks so much for watching! Hope to see you on the next one. Best wishes.
Thanks for watching! We rode west to east. Starting in Woodville NH and ending in Burlington VT. In my opinion the best time to ride is in September. Cooler days, less bugs comfortable nights. Many new upgrades havr been made to the trail since I recorded this. A few new bridges and some resurfacing in spots. Its very nice. Good luck on your trip!
First of all, thanks so much for taking the time to watch my friend. To answer your question, yes, the trail has been greatly improved. It was the spring when we took this trip, the trail was under construction at that time. Most of it has been resurfaced since then and the washout has been repaired. I would encourage anyone to give it a try. It is well marked and lots of fun. I would recommend staying town for real food! Next time I guess. Best wishes and good luck!
No better way to bond with a group of friends than an adventure like this, great job!
So true! Thanks for taking the time to watch. Best wishes my friend.

Your road/trails are awesome they dont exist to my knowledge where I live .....southeast corner of Alabama
Did guys have a fat tire bike and how did that go?
We did use fatbikes, but you need one for this trip. A good gravel bike would be ideal. Thanks for watching!

Thanks for watching!

Great Ride. I would have cut that tree.
Thanks for watching brother! If I only had a saw with me. Next time.
Do you know if the rail trail was improved (near the start)? Also, the trail looked poorly maintained in places … your thoughts?
