  • I've been holding off on making this video, but I finally decided to sit down and explain how I was able to pay for college. Aside from working at Chick-fil-A and Texas Roadhouse for three years, I explain how I received a full-tuition scholarship to Tulane University plus other sources of rewards and stipends.
    My name is Alex and I'm a sophomore at Tulane University. I vlog for fun sometimes, even when my days aren't that interesting (lol enjoy). If you're new to this channel, SUBSCRIBE for more content on my college experience!

    Can you make a video talking more about the Community Service Fellowship? I'm applying soon and want to know how to stand out as an applicant, tips, etc.

    Can you apply to scholarships after you already accepted ( if you already received one scholarship) or is it too late

    I just saw this! I’m so glad I’ve finally found someone who received the community service scholarship. I just did too! What are the benefits of being a community service fellow and what do you do?

    • @AlexSuh
      @AlexSuh  4 года назад +1

      CONGRATS! The CSF scholarship is definitely the most unique service scholarship offered at any university. Some benefits include being part of a cohort of community service-oriented students as well as having a close connection to the Center for Public Service (CPS). The resources and organizations from CPS can set you up well for your future, regardless of you field of interest. We have monthly meetings with social justice, leadership, and service workshops that strengthen us as student leaders on campus. We hope to see you at Tulane next year!

      Alex Suh Cool. Is it easy to do well over 100 hours of service a year like they say you do? How many people are in the monthly meetings?

    • @AlexSuh
      @AlexSuh  4 года назад +1

      Community Service Fellows usually have no issue meeting the 100-hour requirement, considering that service is a large component of our identity. With that being said, the fellowship is evolving away from a transactional foundation to more experiential, meaning that the 100 hours is not a primary focus of the program.
      All CSFs across each year attend the meetings, which is approximately 20.

    As I live in New Zealand I do not fully understand the American Scholarship system. Is it best to apply in sophomore or Junior year of highschool?

      Welcome! If you are an international student, considering contacting the Office of International Students and Scholars - they have additional scholarships offered exclusively for international students. Additionally, search for 2nd and 3rd-party scholarships on the internet that specialize in your strengths and passions. There are so many out there!

      @@AlexSuh I have watched several of your videos mostly for wanting to feel a bit sentimental and, for the most part, they were very well done but that piece about funding for college was nothing but a function of spraining your arm patting yourself on the back.
