- RD21701(vid). A reminder of the last days of British Rail with InterCity HSTs and Regional Railways Class 155s on the West of England main line at Marazion not far from the end of the line at Penzance.
NB: I mistakenly called the 155s a 156 in the video; sorry about that. Once a caption is embedded in the video, it's not possible to alter it. Thanks to all those folks that pointed out my error.
There is also a trip on the branch line from St. Erth to St. Ives filmed through the front window of what is now a heritage DMU.

Great video, thanks for sharing. Dave
Glad you like it. Further instalments to follow as time permits, so watch this space...
Nice DMU ride. Caught the sounds very well.
Glad you like it. A sound only repeatable on heritage railways now.
Hi Ron, this video is a real gem, the cab ride in the Class 101 DMU being especially enjoyable. There are lots of cab rides on YT but most are of preserved DMUs so it is great to see some proper action from BR days at more than 25mph!
Any more British Rail era action you have would be very much appreciated! 😊 In the meantime, many thanks for sharing your footage with us and posting this. Cheers. Vivian
Glad you enjoyed it. I'm not sure what else I might have from the BR era - none of it has seen the light of day for thirty years!
Great video! I subbed :D
Glad you like it. More to come as time permits.
Amazing. It might as well be 1969 for all that it’s changed. 4:02 taking the token. Wonderful stuff .
Good video 👍😎I've subscribers to your RUclips channel 😀
Glad you like it. Thanks for subscribing; there are plenty of videos in the pipeline, so watch this space...
Hi Ron, nice train video in a wonderful landscape! Well done!
Glad you like it Herbert. This is the first of a series, so others will follow as time allows...
Great video, but the sprinter units are 155s not 156s!
Thanks for the correction. All modern trains look the same to me!
I've altered the details underneath, but I don't think it's possible to change the caption in the video.
What Class of DMU was that on the St Ives branch?
Sorry, I never did get my head round all the different types of DMU. Perhaps someone else will know?
