- Gav and Dan travel to the volcanic island of Iceland to capture thousands of liters of boiling water exploding in slow motion. They also thought it was a good idea to put the phantom on a drone. Was it a good idea? You’ll find out.

When the camera gets soaked and finally arrives on the ground, Gav runs to it like a parent who just found out their child was in an accident.

Ben Schneider the back yard videos are still better. Super Slow Show wasn’t great for the most part then as soon as they went back to basics the quality shot up again.

Thank you, government of Iceland, for permitting a drone this time. Lovely images!
They'll usually permit it if you have a reliable piloting history. Basically they just don't want somebody flying a drone for there 1st or 2nd time to get caught by the geyser and end up in a spot that would take lots of effort to recover it. If you apply for a permit and have been flying drone in a photographic sense for a while you'll probably get permission as long as you agree to let them use your photographs or video.

I've actually been to both the geyser and the waterfall, seeing the Slow Mo guys in the same place that I was is a bit surreal

You're so lucky to have visited these amazing places in person! 😍 If I had an unlimited budget (& pandemic travel restrictions had resolved), Iceland is totally #1 on the places I'd love to go... followed by Canada! These places of just such incredible natural beauty...

Edit: the water looks so incredibly blue and clear, and seeing the bubbles slightly deform the surface before breaking through, incredible.

I don't know about this show but I know the Sidemen Show was a RUclips original and only the first episode was free. If you look in the description of this video it says ti subscribe to RUclips premium so I am not sure if this will be free or not
RUclips needs more shows like this, just great RUclipsrs making the same content they normally do, but with bigger budgets so they can take what they do to the next level.

Those waterfalls are one of the most beautiful wonders on the planet. I'm sure they've been used in many films, care to start a list? I think they were in Prometheus.
There's also the Silfra Fissure that has some of the clearest waters on the planet that causes some snorkelers to get vertigo.

These guys have definitely been inspired by Top Gear/Grand Tour and Mythbusters. Quality production all rough. Glad no drones were hurt in the making.

I don't know if Father Ted was broadcast where you live but there was a very funny scene where Father Ted was trying to explain the difference to Father Dougal between something small and something far away. I think Gav should have listened to Father Ted.

I would HIGHLY recommend any and all of you to go to Iceland. It's such an incredible country. There's so much beauty, even when it whiteouts, like the guys when they were stood on the glacier it's still amazing.

You kept asking the drone pilot to fly higher and he kept ignoring you and almost lost the camera and drone...
Dan was just being nervous. Right before that in the video, Gav suggested it and the drone guy was apprehensive.
Gav: "We should probably get higher."
Dan: "Maybe go a little higher."
Gav: "I'm worried about getting hit."
Dan: "Yeah, a little higher."
Drone operator ignores Gav and Dan, goes literally half the height of where the last geyser reached... gets hit.
Dan: Should we rub this in?
Gav: Nah, let's be graceful.
It'll be something RUclips told them to do so that there was a bit of added drama. They'll have checked out that it'll survive a bit of geyser beforehand. Never trust the first thing you see.
@@geollizzie2459 you are right maybe they acted like that because they were following a script, but there are even more chances that it couln't go that high because of its weight plus the weight of the arm loaded with a pretty epic/awesome/sublime camera. I don't think they would have taken the risk to make a script in wich they put the drone right on the geyser and risking to see it falling on someone. Don't always think things are obvious, don't underestimate the human error factor ;-)

I've had the joy of seeing both the Geysir and Gullfoss waterfall, such amazing attractions and Iceland in general is a fantastic place.
Even though I have been to both of these places twice seeing the angles they got was still incredible
We were in Iceland, waiting for the eruption. Litterally 8 seconds after my sister turned on her camera, one of the (so we were told) biggest eruption for that geyser came.

It's so cool how there's absolute outward pressure until the very moment the 'bubble' is breached, then all the surrounding water immediately starts dropping back. I mean, I know I've basically just described the exact thing everyone can quite easily see, but god it's awesome.
