Daemon choked her because he was afraid Rheanyra was going weak like her father, being too into their prophecies and stuff like that. Instead of going literally for the throat against their enemies. It took her son to be killed for her to show her teeth so to speak.

@Lea-ke2rw It's a bit different, that was aemond being a lone dick, aemond who was also a child/teenager. What I'm talking about was an intentional murder of an even younger child and threatening of a mother who isn't mentally well. She was asked which child she wanted to live, she was forced to choose, and the child she chose to live was killed so the other child remembers their mother chose them to die.
I think Daemon does support her as his queen, but i wouldn’t blame him for wanting his sons to succeed her

Otto manipulated the situation to get Daemon disinherited from the iron throne
Got Alicent to seduce Viserys and produce a male heir (easier to push aside a girl for a boy)
Rheanrya tried to get marriage's between aliecent and her own children (which would have sorted out a lot of the rivelry and hostilty) and alicent immediately spat it back in her face
Now i don't think Deamon would necceserily make a great/good king but he'd definitely be better the Aegon
So personally i don't see why anyone would support the greens as they were scheming their way to power from the get go

Tbh i've never understood people who would fight to death protecting their favourite characters. It's been clear since day 1 there is no good guys and everyone made both heroic and evil things (well, except helaena, we all love her).
The funniest are definitely some delusional black fans who justify their doing in the most ridiculous way (sometimes I feel like they themselves dont even believe what they say). On the other and some greens are weird too. Tho I must say the worst are definitely people who praise and even justify B&C and say they had every rights for doing that. yeah this show is genius bc the story in the source material is told from two male perspectives (a jester and a maester) and the show is instead giving us the two female perspectives of alicent and rhaenyra. often time the male perspective of what women do and why they do it is inaccurate and tainted with misogyny. but the show run is very clear it’s alicent and rhaenyra’s show. even from the PR on the press tour it is mainly focused on alicent and raheanyra as the two lead characters.
That’s an awesome point!! I do love that they’ve centered it around their relationship, I think it makes all the terrible things they’re about to do to each other all the more painful knowing where they started and how much they once loved each other

Daemon and Rhaenyras issues aren't *shocking* honey where have been in season 1. From the first episode Daemon is all for himself no matter who takes down with him. He is the most violent and evil piece in this show

i hate how alicent's character is portrayed in the show. She's just a talker. I'm on the green team, and I'm a girl. I want alicent to take more action rather than just talking and always talking. but, I think. There is no strong female character, like a warrior on the battlefield, in alicent's character. 😑😓
Because women have historically not been battlefield warriors. That's not where their physical advantage lies, and that's NOT what makes them strong women.
Alicent was never going to be a warrior, she wasnt one in the book neither. Thats not the only way to be a strong or a complex character. Alicent is well written in the first season, but i might struggle depending on her reaction to b&c.

She put Aegon on that throne, the immediate result on Aegon is terrible i cant imagine her speaking only of peace and passivity after what him and Helaena go through as a result of it. But we'll see! Even in the book she proposes peace and stability, so i just hope she's not too passive in the show.
