I actually think it's going to be very strong. The shield will stop spells from killing it which is one of wizards biggest weaknesses, and give it some support against close range which is its other biggest weakness. Basically with the evo wizard will finally be viable and it's actually a really strong card when you ignore its weaknesses already so the shield and knockback should make it pretty strong
The pushback is really good. Let's say you're pushing with a Pekka, 9/10 times they'll want to drop swarm on the pekka and a medium tank on the wizard. The pushback will save the wizard against the medium tank.

evolved wizard is just like evolutions are supposed to be, small little bonus abilities that just make the card have more things up its sleeve, and not fucking evo firecracker that takes a tower with 3 shots and evo bomber that you can take a tower without crossing the bridge
The weakness the wizard evo makes up for is its health. He will no longer lose to fireball when evolved. This makes him a really interesting support troop.
I think the shield is useful, one of the problems with higher ranked matches for wizard is how easily he gets countered by like 3-4 elixir cards when he crosses bridge, now he can at least push back and shove all around him to perhaps at least lock onto some other nearby troop or at least give him some opportunity to counterattack
You saw the offensive use case first game when you knocked a defending unit from the wizard to the ice golem. If you think the opponent would put something at bridge to distract a wizard supporting a tank, the ability pushes it into aggro range of the tank and also lets the wizard splash any swarms that may be played on the tank while still attacking the enemy melee unit
The knock back also takes what ever is stacking the wizard and knocks them to retarget the tank infornt could be pretty good, you can’t just place things behind the tank on the wizard anymore, and the shield protects it from spells
One of the best counters to wizard is to just surround it with cheap melee troops when it crosses the bridge, it usually only kills some of the units while fully dying in the process. I guess the ring of fire is to deal damage and knock them away, giving wizard some free shots and living longer, in theory anyway. But that's easily circumvented, so overall seems a little underpowered. But after evo bomber that's fine by me EDIT: I did forget to take into account that shields prevent dying to spells, that's massive... still hopefully isn't too broken but that makes it a lot closer than I initially thought :/ forgot every damn evo they release is spell-proof smdh

Evo wizard paired with a win condition at bridge would create insane interactions though. Normally if you play megaknight and wizard behind, the opponent plays valkyrie/another meelee card behind the megaknight so it targets the wizard, now they'll be pushed back and retarget unto the megaknight when the shield explodes, saving the wizard where it usually dies. Considering how much damage a wizard does this change in interaction will be huge. As a wizard player I'm buying diamond pass.
I think the knock back will actually be really useful, if you have the wizard behind a tank and they place troops on the wizard when your push crosses the bridge the knock back can make the counter re target the tank
The problem with the wizard before is that it had too little hp for 5 elixir. The shield gives it pretty much exactly what it needs since it doesn’t get instantly crippled by poison/fireball. Sorry midladder 🙏
since the shield absorbs any hit no matter how much damage, the extra damage wont go to the wizard, it just gets negated. So in short, wizard can tank hits from things like PEKKA, mini pekka, fireball, lightning, etc. without taking any real damage also imagine they made his shield regen after like 5 seconds 💀

I think this evolution is very strong. It's the first time a ranged card have a shield. Wizard with a shield is basically spell proof. It's strong in defense because now dealing with a wizard you either need make sure that your unit can get close too him or nado it closer too your unit if you can't do that wizard will just melt your troops. You can argue that Executioner have the same value as the evolve wizard but it's not. Yes exe can survive almost all of the big spell, for example you can lightning exe and it will leave it on 1 hit. But wizard is different. Looking at the stats the shield at level 11 have 371 Hitpoint which is massive because now none of the small spell in the game can destroy his shield. The highest damaging small spell is arrow and it only deals around 360(I forgot the exact number but it's definetely not 370) so now even if you have an arrow and poison in your hand you can't take out an evolved wizard
I think they should make his fire ball send out 4 little fire balls in a square like shape on impact that last 3 seconds and hits 3 times before it's gone so it'll be better for chip damage againts tanky pushes or pushes that lead with a tank
People sleeping on this cause this makes wizard much better on both defense and offense. Defensive wizard can’t be sniped by spells and doesn’t give much spell value, and offensive wizard can’t be surrounded by swarms or easily killed by mini tanks. This is probably gonna be really good in beat down decks
