Went ahead and fixed some of that stuff you mentioned in the video! -The Wobbly Textures are applied more sparingly, so your camera wont clip through the world as much, and overall it looks more like a vibe than jank -Controls are now displayed on the options screen, AND escape is the default pause button -Most importantly: YOU ONLY HAVE TO DO THE FLYING LEVELS ONCE! I really should've had it that way since the start lol Thanks again for the advice!!
I actually do agree with the frequency of the flying mini game being too high lol. It's one thing that I kind of wanted to change during the development, but towards the end it went by the wayside because of time restraints (making the save system for that sounded a bit tricky at the time), but Ill probably go back in and update that one of these days. I think the move is to just make it so every time you go back in, it auto completes so you still get the cool looking environment, but just for like 3 seconds tops The edge disconnecting is unfortunately a biproduct of the engine and shader. I added a shader to add the edge wobbling, to make everything feel more surreal, but I absolutely could not get it to do that without causing rips in the corners, which was frustrating as hell lol. But yeah I was always 50-50 on it by the end, If I go back and update the flying sections, I'm probably gonna make a graphics setting for that as well But thank you so much for giving it a shot!

When I do another variety stream I'll make sure to check out the updated version
An excellent video. I very much enjoyed the calm and reasonable analysis of these games. Keep it up!

I can’t tell if Covert Critters straight up takes Metal Gear Solid assets, or if it recreates it super freaking well. I’m definitely going to play it.
I can't confirm much about its assets, but it is an awesome demo, apparently the full release will be on steam
@@stressedskeleton6838 That would be so hype. Just from the footage, it looks like it has really great stealth handling.
@@Gultykappa It took some getting used to with the wall mechanic part, but after you get it, it's really satisfying
I thought itch games meant like. Games where the goal is to scratch itches
Itd be nice to wxplore games from.specific devs
I'm sad. I got nothing funny to say.
