    He's clearly got a demonstrably high hockey IQ, plays a positional game, gritty, great hands, and stays cool under pressure. His strength and conditioning need work but those are easy to fix. He just got picked up by Detroit and I'm so stoked you have a video on him with analysis. Thank you so much for posing this!

      @Razre 2 года назад

      @@evanmaunders5688 Maybe strength and conditioning aren't the terms I'm looking for then, because I didn't know anything about him prior to this. I'm referring more to his technique, his quickness, his skating, things like that.

    Nice video and spot on commentary. Can see why some scouts now have him 8-12 range. He doesn't look like a first line talent but good size, leadership and pro game at 17 against men. I can jump on board for the pick around that range. He's not a swing for the fences pick but if you want an nhl player and want to play it safe, you take him.

  • @conallross1694
    @conallross1694 2 года назад +6

    Man there’s a lot to like here but I’m having a hard time seeing past his skating. His foot speed and edges are solid, kid spins around like a turnstile out there, but his stride is gonna hamper his full-chat speed. It’s not the end of the world since the short and choppy stride gives him a quick first 3 steps, which is important for his style where he’s clearly making a lot of use of quick turns and edges to create separation. But seeing such a broken stride just makes me think he’s gonna need more time than expected to keep up in the show, especially if he’s trying to energizer-bunny around the ice like that. Not a deal breaker but I can’t shake my focus from that stride

    • @beenz2022
      @beenz2022 2 года назад

      I think he'll learn to control it. Use it when he needs. We're also seeing highlights here.. And as someone watching just based on videos like this, I may be ignorant to how he plays throughout the game. I wish I could watch a full game to see if this is the norm for him.

    • @massivecumshot
      @massivecumshot 2 года назад +1

      Unless there's something physically wrong, I think a good power skating coach could get him to lengthen that stride and dig in a little harder. You're right in those first 3 strides he sees to lose power by not biting into the ice all the way, but his highlight are impressive for a 17 year old kid.

    • @mmcl8881
      @mmcl8881 2 года назад +1

      Scouts consider his skating one of his biggest assets. Hes an above average skater in a mens league that plays on a bigger ice surface, so he will have no problem transitioning to the NHL. In fact, the smaller ice in the NHL is likely better for his fast and physical playstyle.

Kasper is a guaranteed 2c. He is a really smart player. When I watched the Wings last year. I only seen a few guys actually playing smart hockey. We need somebody like Kasper. Also Wings fans need to realize. We have 2 2nd round picks, you can assure yourselves Yzerman will draft 2 studs in the 2nd round. He's already been proven to be one of the best GM's in the game today. Just sit back, and enjoy the ride guys. We will be a playoff team in 2-3 years max

    Relies a lot on proximity to the net shots and trying to stuff it in, he will have to develop tough skin going in against NHL defenders trying this. Maybe that is why Yzerman saw value, get the puck in to the dirty areas.
    Marco's slapper on the move is superior, similar to Brian Rolston. Not many younger prospects have it down at this age.
