They are not the first people, they are the oldest people. There's a difference. They are just genetically more unique & pure, but that doesn't mean they are the first people.
To me the San are relatively different from other African people. The San are smaller in stature, have fairer complexion in comparison to other Afican people, and most of them are slanted. Unique!
Because they are the oldest Africans, the San peoples features and language can be seen throughout the African content. Also you have look at DNA to see similarities or differences.
Most San have a distinct look, but its not unique at all in all of Southern Africa, because people here have all been mixing with each other for thousands of years. Those features are also present in Sotho, Twana and Nguni peoples, Khoi and Southern African "Coloureds."(essentially creoles) The problem is people wrongly assume there is a prototype African look. The stereotypical look varries from region to region, or ethic/cultural groups. But only remote, isolated or more enogamic people have less diversity in looks, most people can fall anywhere on the diversity spectrum. Khoi who are essentially San who arent isolated and abandoned hunter gathering long ago, are very diverse in looks.
There’s people who look like the san all over Africa though? Senegal and North African countries have those eyes, Ethiopia and east Africa have the stature and skin complexion I know Nigerians who look like the San. They’re not that unique.
@@vampsirski4843 San have a diverse genetical make up..they mixed with other ethnic over time, so yes you will find people elsewhere who have their features because their genes were passed down
You are misinformed some little research could have assisted you ,Batswana or Tswana in south Africa and Botswana including the Xhosa and Basotho of Lesotho are mostly lighter in complexition ,and again there a San who are naturally dark skinned so
@@meggan71 Or maybe this is all they know and haven't been exposed to a different way of living. I guarantee, most of them wouldn't want to continue living like this if they saw how they could have a more productive and healthier life all the way around.
@@seaor2k122 I can contest that you're, at best, overgeneralizing on what you said regarding their lifestyle. As someone who has worked with indigenous peoples in different regions in the world, I have met many indigenous youth who do want to continue living a customary lifestyle even after being exposed of the outside lifestyle around them. And there's nothing wrong with this as it's the rights of every people to live in whatever ways that they want as long as it's not hurting anyone else.
@@lastrationalist7890 I never said it wasn't their right to live the way they want to live nor was I insinuating that government officials should go into their villages and make them change their way of life. I'm merely commenting on why they don't want to modernize their way of life and I'm speculating if they know any better or do they (or individuals) want experience a different life. Since you 've had interactions with indigenous peoples in villages and say they like their way of living, okay. Personally, I don't believe you
@@seaor2k122 Okay but, besides pointing out that many indigenous youth want to live their original lifestyle (despite being exposed to the outside world) and that it's their right to do so, another problem with your comments is that you clearly perpetuate the myth that living a "modern" lifestyle is better for the indigenous peoples. Which, not only this untrue, but is a prejudice belief that's based on outright racism. It's also detrimental to the indigenous peoples as it's often used to justify forcing them from their land for resource extraction. In fact, that's exactly what's happened to the San people in this video. The Botswana government used this belief to force the San out of their land with the reasoning that it'll help them "develop out of their primitive lifestyle." When the reality is simply that they want the area for diamond mining. Now, the San in much of the country have a worse quality of life which is clearly showcased by the people presented in the video.
Yes they are ! Just like a lot of other tribes culture In years to come .. a lot of people will not be able to give account of their origin Think about it
Scientific Researchers have proven that this is the oldest nation on earth through DNA testing g snd studies. They are the First Nation and should not be allowed to become extinct like some species of animal. Do research on RUclips and historical archives and you will find that when Africa, America's Asia and Australia was one continent known as Godwana, these hunter gathers migrated to these places on groups hence other tribes and Aboriginal nations were created. Their knowledge of nature, its plant and animals and their way of life can easily be identified in other tribes across the world. So the governments of Botswana, Angola, Namibia and South Africa should do more in reviving their culture instead of pushing them into fenced off corners and taking away their way of life. Go Google and read the " United Nations Declaration of Indigenous People".

Why are these people living so primitive in 2022?
Probably because it is their preferred choice of lifestyle. Not everyone wants to be glued to a screen.
