古河財閥によって開発された銅山により繁栄した足尾（現・栃木県日光市足尾町）の街を、さまざまな店舗や施設、実業学校で開かれた式典で賑わう様子などを通して、紹介している。郷土の詩人・向田景夫による「足尾行進曲」の歌詞が挿入されている。
「フィルムは記録する ―国立映画アーカイブ歴史映像ポータル―」では、日露戦争の記録、文部省が推進した科学やスポーツ、観光などを扱う教育映画、行政や企業による産業や地方振興のPR映画、皇室行事や軍事演習の記録など、題材も撮影場所も多彩な87作品を、初回分として一挙公開しています。今後も随時公開作品を増やしていく予定です。ぜひサイトをお訪ねください。

The first edition of this site presents 87 titles featuring a variety of topics and shooting locations. The selection includes documentaries of the Russo-Japanese War, educational films focusing on science, sports and tourism produced by the Ministry of Education, industrial and regional promotional films produced by local governments and corporations, and rich footage of imperial events and military exercises.
