When there was a bug on kings canyon where u could go under the map (preferably with valk), I got this bug too. It's because source engine have a weird way of filling no texture area with what was on previous frame of ur screen. Apex uses heavily modified source version so I guess it's their way of filling the gaps. Not too sure but It's my best guess (also on r5 u could find it too if u fell into the void)
if u ever go under the map for fun in pubs (obviously don't win) you can find boxes that if you stay still while looking at you'll see a bunch of different banner poses
Source engine jank. Banner poses that were most recently loaded into memory are probably still sitting there on some texture memory address. Go look somewhere where there’s no texture memory address to call on and you see the last thing from that default address. Something like that. It’s kinda like how all the old Super Mario World era glitches work in a way.
Oh I know what this is. Something to do with banners on the start screen of the game is drawn onto some background layer in VRAM which is never cleared, because it's never meant to be seen, so clearing it every frame is work that doesn't need to be done. There should ALWAYS be geometry in front of the background layer during gameplay - even the store pages are rendered on a couple of polygons - so when a player messes about and clips their camera through geometry to see the background, or falls off the map in such a spectacular way that the devs didn't expect it and gave up on putting geometry down there, you can see this. This is common in a LOT of games. Check out some videos of map escapes in Halo 2 - Bungie didn't expect the players to get to certain places, so when you turn the camera around, you see the background of the world, which contains fragments of what was there the previous frame because it's never cleared, and it ends up looking like DO YOU REMEMBER... THE TWENTY FIRST NIGHT, OF SEPTEMBER

Thats why he is able to scan through walls. Inside each wall is a clone placed and they tell him where the enemies are.
