What was the main cause of the Mercedes EV catastrophe?

The terrible design and price cause the catastrophe. Who wants to by a depreciating bloated dolphin on wheels? I’m a merc fan but the whole Ev lineup is terrible.

I’ve been a MB owner for over 30 years.
The biggest turn off is the shocking (pun intended) decline in quality in every element of the brand. A product that used to have a long service life if maintained, has become all but impossible to maintain and has an expected service life of, I don’t know, 6 to 10 years?
You don’t want to be a 2nd owner of a MB. The service departments used to provide quality service for a high fee. Now it is just arrogance to hide incompetence, combined with sabotage combined with theft in the form of fees that can be 5x what an inde would charge, and the inde would do a better job.
Sad to see this once great brand become another purveyor of fraud and theft packaged and sold as cars and trucks.

It's not the fault of Mercedes or any other EV maker. The car itself is a good product however, the infrastructure has not caught up. There are not enough chargers around to meet the demand. If you have a gas car without enough gas stations it would be the same result.

Shocked more people won’t buy 100+K, low range, EVs, especially while cnbc, wsj, keep trashing the ev industry while they get UAW, big oil, etc lobbying…

Not to mention other brand 1/3 of the price has more power, better range, better tech and the interior quality is in par.... so consumers see what does Merc has that make that huge price gap? and not to mention less cost to service. I own Merc, I was about to buy EQC or EQE and found out the price $150k for EQE 300 that has only 180kw, charging speed only 150kwh, 0-100km/h: 7.3s and service cost $1000-$1300... for ...????? filing up wiper fluid?

All of the management of MB should be fired immediately. An Engineer should be the CEO.

The video makes no mention of the rise of the Chinese EVs. It's like an ostrich hiding its head in the sand, refusing to see how the world has changed. Where is my cheese? Who has moved my cheese?

Have you seen or driven any of these Chinese EVs? They are ticking time bombs. They will catch on fire at any given moment with horrendous quality just like most things made in China. They may sound good on paper but in actuality is a piece of junk.

Same jellybean, different sizes. Nothing appealing about Mercedes-Benz anymore
