Congrats man! This comment section is so full of love too. That means you’re doin it right. Keep up the good work, your content is so freakin enjoyable.
Thanks for the update! Congrats on the engagement and upcoming wedding. Looking forward to see how things evolve over the next few months. I also need to try out Green Charge!!
Mr Perry, did you just casually announce that you are getting married in the middle of walking us through your lawn update? …..talk about being a boss! Congrats!
Congrats on the wedding John! As for the PH correction, I also got a lot of information saying it is not really needed. The PH has to be good for a given plant only in the rhizosheath, not in whole medium. Good community of microbes can easily do that. Looking forward to seeing your results!
That pH discussion is a fun one. Just like some people run well with higher or lower blood pressure than "normal" or higher cholesterol etc. We often discount the plain old question of "how do you feel?" when it comes to health. I see parallels to the lawn. If the grass was born and raised in that higher pH condition and is used to it and thriving in it, why change it?
Congrats on the wedding! The lawn looks great! I've been interested in seeing bent grass as a lawn cut under an inch, but my Google searches always return content around controlling it as a weed.
First year using all n-ext products with Greene charge being my main fert, my summer lawn looks better than any other lawn around. Also using the same products on my father's lawn and he is blown away at the results. Multiple people ask me what they need to do with their lawns to look like mine.
Congrats to you guys on your upcoming wedding. After seeing your play area lawn there is still hope for my lawn. Not the timing I was hoping for but I will have something to look forward to next season. 25K is there a Hudson Star give away in the future lol 🤔
Perry… congrats on bien’ a role model of knowledge, success, and now to devotin’ the rest of your life to your soon to be wife! Many blessings to y’all and y’all’s success in life! (FYI, that turf is fire amigo!)
I don’t really get grubs up here, either the season is too short or the lack of surrounding turf makes it uninhabitable. Salt lake gets them and we used to use Dylox
The main reason is to prevent any sort of phytotoxicity. It’s possible that if the grass begins to grow faster and the cells divide quicker, you can cost some stress to your turf. Now, if you apply the material when it is hot, just make sure you have enough water and it will be fine. It tends to be that if you were to do a low dilution rate, the potential for burn goes up. The more water you add, the less risk you take. I would suggest doing no less than 30 to 1 dilution
On my lawn here in southern az i use sulfur to control soil compaction. Ive never done a soil test an my lawn looks better than the golf course across the street
Damn son. Dat color doe. Over here in Lousiana [sic] with my not quite the color I want St Aug. Makes me want to rip it all out and put in something that can really get that dark dark.
I have a couple patches of bentgrass driving me nuts in my TTTF yard. I'm trying to avoid going nuclear and killing the area, might have to just dig it out. Any suggestions?
Been using the bio-stim pack for about two years. Just recently tested out MicroGreene/Greene Effect with poor results. Used max application rates and all it did was make the underside of my zero turn icky and sticky. Black tar which is hard to get off. Turf never got deep green and after a week went back to its natural (bahiagrass) color. I've had much better luck with ironite. I'll keep with the Micro Green but staying away from Greene Effect until i can figure out what happened. Maybe I overloaded the plant. Don't know.
Hey Man, Shoot me an email! sounds like we could do some trouble shooting and get you where you need to be. There is no reason you should ever or i guess ive never seen anyone get anything "stuck to the underside" of a mower. If that happened, you didnt have enough water with your application and it didnt get absorbed
So many geek possibilities with robo mowers. Like give me a john deere like map of my yard telling me the yield and low areas and dry areas. Stop and sample ph and moisture. Give me a reading of color accross lawn. Tell me the high spots and low spots. Would only be 20k and a 35 a month subscription. Jk I do wonder if added a chalky marker strap underneath would it mark high spots. I need to get a robo mower I think. Living vicariously here. Some of the early robo mo videos were grass cutting haters. Yours is more of a opp to save time and up game it seems.
So here’s how I look at this thing: Time saver? Yes for sure. I’m spending so much time on my green that the lawn needs it’s own system. This has helped so much. But here’s something else to consider; I have about 27 weeks of mowing here (give or take 4 weeks) that means that this year is costs me just less than 10.00 a day to have my lawn mowed. Everyday. Next year the average is 5.00, then 3.33 and so forth. Over the years I basically have an everyday service that gets cheaper as time goes on
Give the ryegrass a full season abd see how it look mature. My RPR came in and it was the best grass I ever had (better then my ss11000 bluegrass, also amazing) anyways, after a full season I had a long fight with disease as we know ryegrass is known for. The half I applied a phosphite to did much better but basically the grass got so thick the dead material underneath kept the disease coming back (also bad year for disease) I got it looking great but compared to my mature ss11000 blue grass it’s nothing special and compared to the area I reseeded with RPR it’s like a different grass. My point or question or reasoning it this, does the RPR hold up over time as a mono stand. Just good for thought before you redo your entire yard. But boy it looks good when it first comes in, the iron gets it the dark blue/green too
Congrats on the engagement. I’m a professional photographer by trade. For nearly 20 years now. With how much you’ve helped over the years with free education materials, I’d offer to shoot your wedding for you. Free of charge. If that’s something you guys would be interested in. Lemme know 🤘🤜
The deep dark green is fantastic! I love that 26-0-0 Greene Charge, such a nice color boost on my lawn
GreeneCharge is great for a nice boost of growth and a little micros. But my version of double dark+ cocktail is hard to beat.
