I really think this group deserves more recognition. They are beautiful, talented women playing a very uncommon genre of music (classical fusion) that more people should be appreciating. I prefer this over what many mainstream artists are putting out today.
Freaking AWESOME!! My teacher played some of their videos in my Music Appreciation class today and I was like wow they are AWESOME! They are now in my top ten fav bands lol.
is this a duel between the two violins or one the violinists and the violist? Sorry if it's a dumb question but I can't tell though i would guess it's the two violins.
these women are absolutely amazing and i'm pleased to see that there is still music out there worth listening to that isn't the same cookie-cutter drivel that i keep hearing on the radio. way to go Bond! :)
actually u could tell the difference from the beginning, you'll hear the bouncing of sounds from the moment the cello or much better when the violin starts to play, that sounds is filtered in recording but in not in live act
@alezandersantiago LO KE PASA ES KE EL TOCAR DE LA FORMA EN KE ELLAS LO HACEN ES KMO TU DICES KMO HACER EL AMOR CON LOS VIOLINES ES TOCAR CON PASION Y TOCAR CON EL CORAZON
They are proffessional classical players, so it may be posssible that they play the same every single time, because they are probably perfectly loyal to the sheetmusic. And you can actually see them play the instruments, which nothing like "moving lips". If so, they may well be playing for real, since playback wouldn't be much of an advantage if they still have to "look like playing".
I think it depends on who listens to it. some people are tuned to their music because of their looks, but some might not care for their looks. i think a blind test should be perfomed. and also if you listen to others like the trans siberian orchestra thehy rock, but they arent dressed like pop teen idols.
I love that the violinists are playing back and forth at each other, but their styles are so similar that you couldn't tell who is playing just by listening.
I love how they interact each other on the stage. Such a great performers. They are the best sexiest gifted electronic string quartet ever. I love them and their music!
Speaking of "Duels", I think that these ladies would do great at playing what is called the "Dueling Banjos" music from the file "Deliverance". They would just pair off into two opposing "teams" for it. Actually, in that movie, the boy was playing his banjo, and the grown man was playing his guitar. In any case, that music from "Deliverance" can by re-scored and re-keyed to be played by lost of different kinds of instruments, and especially stringed instruments. That is what is important.
violin is a much different instrument than others. It takes extraordinary discipline and much practice to get good. If you take it up, commit! ive played for 10 years and will never quit. amazing instrument. im glad to see its getting incorporated into other genres.
Hello ViperR1069, "Basses can b bowed as well, although they rn't meant 2 b" Basses are bowed (played "arco") all the time. Every symphony by Beethoven has bowed bass parts. Plucking the bass in classical music is a special effect called "pizzicato". Even in jazz the bass is sometimes bowed.

It's her way of articulating the phrases in the music. She's also the lead showman in addition to being first violin. It's part of her job to interpret the music on-stage, just like Mick does for the stones. She does it well.
hey by the way all they r not on air its playback & 2 b fair not all their classic music remixes r good 4 example if u listen 2 a musical piece like storm & listen 2 its classic iam sure that all who love classic music not just hot babes will like the classic copy more than theirs but sometimes they do their remix perfectly
Their violins cost around 4,000 USD, they have a custom fit and paint job. They also have professional pickups and strings. Not to mention their violins are fitted with metal tuners which is a godsend for any prodigy.
@NabucodonosorVI-What part of "fuck everyone who talks shit about females. There's NOTHING wrong with girls" was so hard to understand? I actually happen to be the only male feminists that I know. I truly believe that woman are smarter than men where it counts. And these girls are amazingly talented, I have nothing CLOSE to it. I DO suspect that this isn't a real live performance; so what? That's not an insult. It's still them playing it, just not live. A lot of musicians do that you know.
I was trying to remember that too; it's a classical piece, old music, and I THINK it was is the Disney movie "Fantasia", but I'm not at all sure. I remember these images of big tidal waves crashing and storming; it fit the music beautifully. Do you by any chance know of a female violin trio that played "Kalinka" on a TV show? Just look up "Kalinka", and you'll find it; it's 3 women, a lot like Bond only they all play the violin, no vocals. I can't find out who they are, but they are wonderful.
They are not the same type of instrument. Yes, they are in the same sort of family or group of insturments as far as string players go. But basses are plucked rather than bowed. They have a far deeper sound, are much larger than cellos and are in their own league. Also cellos and basses are meant for whatever music their owner wants to play. But originally both were made as part of symphonic bands/orchestras. Though all are used with any music these days from jazz to rock.
Dude, all that I say is that these gals, brilliant musicians as they are, have decided to market themselves after the pop genre (and I'm not passing judgement on it either way), and based off of this, as well as just the inconsistently synced video, I think that they are prolly not playing this live. I could be wrong, and I KNOW I can't do this, but it's a justifiable point nonetheless. And I'm not saying I hate them for this either, I really like Bond's music.
I know what an electric violin is, and that's not what I'm saying, it's just that they are probably playing, but what we and the audience hears is prolly just a recording. Doesn't mean they didn't record it or that they can't play it perfectly, it's just that they strike me as more of pop stars than instrumentalists, in presentation philosophy. It seems to me they are too focused on their appearence while on stage and not enough on their instruments, which they are given time to do if I'm right.
that's so kool. i like them. all african american? even better. they seem to be really into it. wish i could walk and play. i like the cello. go electric! the violins sound like violins though. there's a japanese group very similar to them. japanese/asian called Vanilla Mood. o just saw only a few are African American. very pretty though.omg i love the solo that is very fast. *practices violin while walking.* very hard
You can see the amplifier boxes around their waist. Maybe they really are playing live, but it certainly doesn't sound like it. Oh well, I love them anyways. =)
To Tehstupidbish. This was NOT a playback. You also listed Escala. I like Escala and before them Wild. Escala has a lot of playback. I doubt very seriously that a venue as reputable as Royal Albert Hall would ever allow 100% playback. Bond is very original. Haylie Eckert is one of the best female violin performers ever. So is Vanessa Mae. A Tito thumbs up.
I like Bond very much and I think they are playing live, but look at the scene at 2:50. The music (the violine) continues but Haylie isn't playing but laughing. Okay, so Eos is the second violin and could've played for her, but it's actually Haylie's part I think. Hmmm, just wanted to point that out.
Maybe, but the same goes for Brittany Spears' microphone. Doesn't mean that they are using it. I dunno, they're good enough to not need it, I'm sure, but jsut from the way they present themselves on stage, I think that it would be the type of thing they would do, for assurance. Still think they are great musicians though... and good song
no they are actually playing in show. look at the song "korobushka" (sp?) they play with classic violin. they have to be playing, cause people in the front rows woul hear the fake platin with a standard violin. Korobushka beeing 10x harder to play than this one, if the can play Korobushka for real in shows, they can also play this one ;)
I COMPLETELY AGREE! Anyway, other than being electric, what else is special about the violins that they play? electric violins aren't exactly new, and it looked like the ones they were playing were nothing out of the ordinary. I'm probably just being ignorant, as I really don't know much about Bond, but really, how are they specially made?
Wow, really good music, but they are prolly lip-syncing, or whatever the equivilent would be for instruments. If fact, even though I love the music, they all seem rather fake to me, not in their playing (they are obviously accomplished musicians) but in that they are trying to sell themselves as a band of brittany spears (which no one wants, lol), or maybe the spice girls...
Hey all Bond Lovers. Wuts up. If you havent heard of Barrage I would highly reccomend them I saw them on their world tour in Bozeman Montana and it totally kicked ARSS. Ive never seen anything quite like it. They fiddle(hip hop, rock, techno, swing, ect.) sing, and dance all at once its AMAZING... Check it out
It's the same thing- it's pop music tarted up as some kind of 'technoclassical' shit blend to give it an air of class. Mixing two awesome things like lemonade and steak sauce does not produce something that is also awesome. Mixing electronic music and classical music has the same effect.
if you refering to me, how the hell am i not bright for expressing my opinion? and if you mean where i wrote about the voice at the start i know i should of put about 50 secs in, but i cudnt find the edit option, so bite me and go back to playing with yourself

no, it's a cello. seriously, i've been playing the cello for 12 years now and i am telling you, that IS a cello. a bass is bigger than that. if that was a bass, it would stand over her head. sorry to upset you but you're wrong.
@VIOLINSURI Is it so impossible that a group can sound the same live as on their CD? Some do. They probably have many tracks lined up to play along with the live instruments (like the vocals).
This whole royal albert hall show was 100% playback, it's sad knowing they are actual musicians who can play these songs. Escala/rasputina/apocalyptica aren't doing playback, why would bond need to?.,
Oh yeah? Wow. These girls are damn awesome. Real talent, for sure. I wasn't trying to question their talent, it just seemed too perfect, but I guess that's what happens when your that good! LOL.
I'm a guy too, I'm actually from Mexico, a country where you'll find women are not quite treated equally...but I've always tried not to fall in that mistake, so I respect and treat man and women alike...
I'll bet it's the violin equivalent of "lip-syncing". It's probably just recorded music, and they're just playing along with it. No-one could hear if they fucked up, because the speakers are so loud.
There are just different kinds of good music. Obviously you can´t compare this to classical music or something of the kind, but in their own genre it is good, I´ll say like kind of techno imo.
U seriusly think that they would do playback in Royal Albert Hall? ;P ... she does a save there when she laughes, the other continues a bit... see for yourself... Great song, wonderful performance
I really think this group deserves more recognition. They are beautiful, talented women playing a very uncommon genre of music (classical fusion) that more people should be appreciating. I prefer this over what many mainstream artists are putting out today.

is this a duel between the two violins or one the violinists and the violist? Sorry if it's a dumb question but I can't tell though i would guess it's the two violins.
the band is called bond
these women are absolutely amazing and i'm pleased to see that there is still music out there worth listening to that isn't the same cookie-cutter drivel that i keep hearing on the radio. way to go Bond! :)
i mean... i first heard this on the radio :))))
@creatiar it is definately playback, but nevertheless stunning!
actually u could tell the difference from the beginning, you'll hear the bouncing of sounds from the moment the cello or much better when the violin starts to play, that sounds is filtered in recording but in not in live act
awesome!
Bravoooooo....
thats a really good question
Vanessa Mae Rulz!!!
the girls of bond make a very good interpretation but vanessa does by herself what three of her does all together
@alezandersantiago LO KE PASA ES KE EL TOCAR DE LA FORMA EN KE ELLAS LO HACEN ES KMO TU DICES KMO HACER EL AMOR CON LOS VIOLINES ES TOCAR CON PASION Y TOCAR CON EL CORAZON

man i lovee this song. its my fav :P

i think a blind test should be perfomed.
and also if you listen to others like the trans siberian orchestra thehy rock, but they arent dressed like pop teen idols.
or, possibly the album was recorded from this?
just a thought
playback? Cant believe is live
@EDGARLOREDO

I like the way they smile at each other while playing.
I love that the violinists are playing back and forth at each other, but their styles are so similar that you couldn't tell who is playing just by listening.
I love how they interact each other on the stage. Such a great performers. They are the best sexiest gifted electronic string quartet ever. I love them and their music!

My favourite piece from Bond!
Gave me goosebumps everytime I listen
Awesome...
Bond are so awesome it gives me chills everytime I listen to them
Buena que buena de verdad
Speaking of "Duels", I think that these ladies would do great at playing what is called the "Dueling Banjos" music from the file "Deliverance". They would just pair off into two opposing "teams" for it.

It's her way of articulating the phrases in the music. She's also the lead showman in addition to being first violin. It's part of her job to interpret the music on-stage, just like Mick does for the stones. She does it well.

WOOHOOO!!! I LOVE this song! Did you see how many notes they were playing at 3:49-4:20?!?! AWESOME!!!
Their violins cost around 4,000 USD, they have a custom fit and paint job. They also have professional pickups and strings. Not to mention their violins are fitted with metal tuners which is a godsend for any prodigy.

no they are actually playing in show. look at the song "korobushka" (sp?) they play with classic violin. they have to be playing, cause people in the front rows woul hear the fake platin with a standard violin. Korobushka beeing 10x harder to play than this one, if the can play Korobushka for real in shows, they can also play this one ;)

2 things:
1. The duelists are hot !!!
2. After looking at all the live performances, I have noticed that they smile 80% of the time. Personally, my face hurts after more than 2 minutes of smiling.
Conclusion: Talented musicians and "smileists" !
5/5 btw
BOND DUEL FULL QUE MALA HONDA QUE SOLO LE PUDE DAR LIKE UNA VEZ
