    Some specifics for the contest.
    There is no force organization that needs to be followed.
    You can go over the stated 500 points if you want.
    The models can be from anywhere. You can print them, buy them, or make them yourself.
    Send in pictures from somewhere along the wip of the models. Just so I know you didn't Google models and send me the pictures.
    This is about getting brush to model. So get out there and get messy.

    The competition is an awesome idea!

    I think the Ratmen has picked up, at least in Grimdark Future, because the concept is quite different. Allowing for a cetain degree of heroism or villainy as the narrative of each player wishes.
    It is "Secret of NIMH with BFGs". Just wondering about a "Grimdark Futurized Mrs. Brisby" hero figure. Probably would look like a "what if they have hired Don Bluth to do 'Dune'" design.

    The painting contest is interesting, but I'm in vacation soon, I won't be able to paint much when far from home 😅
    Great Idea, maybe I will be able to participate the next Time 🙂

    The hard part about getting game stores numbers up is that they don’t really make money selling OPR. They make money selling Warhammer. However, some people are curious about the rule set, and the fact that they can use warhammer models for the game is usually opener.

    I introduced long time 40k player to OPR just last week and they already want to play again, one at a time we are growing.

    Painting engagement sounds cool, I just so happened to print a 500 point high elf fleets army this week.

    One thing I’d really like in the upcoming Grimdark Future campaign is if one of the factions is a custom faction.
    Such as the CIS (Star Wars), Xenomorphs (Aliens), Yautja (Predator), Arachnids (Starship Troopers)
    3-4 main factions of OPR and a solid (relatively) balanced custom faction. I think it would be pretty interesting seeing a custom faction in a campaign setting.
    It would show off OPR’s ability to convert anything to an army that is playable

    Ratmen rule!!
    I'm working on painting the robot Titan. Maybe I should enter that in the contest? I guess I need to get on the discord server and figure that out.

    I'd say that the Rat Men hype came from the Scaven release.

    If you're inclined to travel a bit further for occasional OPR game, I've got a group we're all learning how to play. Last week we had 9 players and got about 6 games in during our allotted time at our FLGS. (We're in the Ann Arbor/Ypsilanti area, sometimes Livonia).

      Do you guys have any events scheduled? That's a bit of a jog for a game night but would love to do a whole day thing

    • @matthewstewart-fulton6266

      @@WarbossFitz our game group isn't often that organized but when we do organize a full day of play I will let you know!
      The flgs (Golden Rhino games) runs events pretty often and has specific game themed days. They are very much worth checking out.

      Well, there's a lot of interest in a day long session of play. I don't know if we would have an event, so much as setting up at a flgs in Livonia to play games as long as there's endurance to do so.
      Most of the folx in our group have only played OPR once or twice but all are long time gamers who have been sold on the OPR system.
      We're considering trying out 2 teams of 2 against each other at our next gathering.
      I'll let you know what unfolds.

    I've been trying to get it going at my club, but the most interest I've had was 'I've looked at it, it seems dull compared to 40k/fantasy/AoS' and I really didn't have much to counter that. I dont think it's 'dull', but compared to the rich setting GW come up with, it's rough...

    I'd love to join your contest but I sold my Mars Pro 2 and ordered a Saturn 4 Ultra. Got no printer right now.

    Huhu, interesting. I am playing AoF and i am playing a Sky City Dwarf Army (3,2%) and prepare a Giant Tribes army (4,2%).
    Seems like they are not that liked that much. But i love them and they are a lot of fun to play.

    • @WarbossFitz
      @WarbossFitz  2 месяца назад

      It could be the cost of the GW equivalent army. KO and SOB models are real expensive. At least the air ships for the KO. So I think those players would stay in age of sigmar and try and make it work before they branch out to other games. Give it time and those players will be around. I have showed off 3d printed giants but I am still looking for sky city dwarf airships to print

    • @einherjer6293
      @einherjer6293 2 месяца назад +1

      True, the Overlords are a little more expensive. But i Substitute the giants with Kings of War Miniatures from Mantic Games and some Pronted versions that are also not that expensive.
