- In light of Cassie's lawsuit against Diddy, we take a look back at Ryan Leslie speaking to DJ Vlad in 2009 about his relationship with Cassie. During the sit-down, Ryan stated, "I love Cassie. I fell in love with her, I fell in love with the music, I fell in love with her family." When asked about their falling out, Ryan explained that there were "specific characters" that played into why he and Cassie didn't talk. Vlad then asked Ryan about Cassie being signed to him and Cassie having a deal with Diddy's Bad Boy, and Ryan explained that he didn't want to get involved.
Ryan leslie was supposed to be what Drake is today… and he could do it all, rap, sing RnB and produce some of the the biggest hits on radio for a while. He definitely got blackballed from the industry.

Bad Boy barely tried to secure Cassie another hit record and pretty much ran down the clock until she lost all momentum. Her debut album was written and produced by Ryan almost singlehandedly. Last time I remember There are no features on the album apart from Ryan (even though, shadily, he gets no feature credit despite him having entire verses on multiple songs on that album). What hit record did Diddy secure Cassie once Ryan was out of the picture? A second album was teased forever but never released, and all her singles after that first album cycle, flopped. It’s clear now he was never serious about artist development with her like he said he was.
