@@joehinojosa8314 Some 35 years ago in LA, CA; I a JW in GS, found that my food stamps didn't come through, was in trouble; so' going to a food-bank at a pentecostal church, I knew that if I worked there filling up food boxes that I could earn a box for myself; although I knew that as a JW' helping another church was disallowed, I reasoned that if the food belonged to God, why was this provision given to the pentecostal church? and not our church for distribution. Some irony, ha.

The Presiding Overseer threatened to call the cops on them so they left. I talked to them outside made arrangements to drop off some T.P. later. Like they teach you at the meetings, by your LOVE they will know you are my disciples.
ExJw Philippines my reaction to the Royal Commission was the same - I instantly lost interest in the meetings and service. I was like a zombie after that - no notes, no bible, nothing. Thank you so much for sharing your story! I'm glad you didn't give up on your group - because of your perseverance our Philippine friends have a place to go and get support!

Your anguish at the realisation that you had been misled is clear in your voice, I can not imagine the pain that waking up causes BUT you now have the opportunity to experience a full and normal life, you can make your own decisions for all things in your life. You are very brave and deserve better than the org can ever offer you or your family.
I can relate to your feelings. I just recently left the org after 28 years. Waking up was hard and painful. Lost many friends and often feel very lonely. However, people like you, Ali and many others have become my remote friends without knowing that. Love and big hugs from Ireland.☘️☘️☘️❤️

When I watched that same clip of Geoffrey Jackson, it cut me to the heart also. I wonder how many others, it had the same effect on. Now, I can only see all the GB as liars. Hello from New York! Thank you for sharing your story with us. It will be so helpful for others coming out or those already trying to work through their process of waking up. I was baptized seven months after leaving an abusive relationship, and I didn't even make it four years before I stopped going to meetings. I had many reasons for not becoming fully indoctrinated/leaving, but as a survivor of domestic violence, one of my biggest reasons was how the org handles all forms of abuse, trauma, and mental health issues. Then I learned about the Australian Royal Commission, and that was enough. I don't know what kind of support system you will have locally for ex JWs, but there are so many of us connecting in online communities, etc. and providing support for each other. Keep sharing your story so others in similar situations see from your example that they don't have to stay silent and that there are people who will understand and support them, and also help serve as a warning to others on the outside who don't understand what really happens once you're in.
What a fascinating story! I’m sorry for your loss, although I’m pleased you are reunited with your children. I had no idea Ex JW’s are hard to find in the Philippines. Thank you so much, so far we have 66 members, we are being helped by other exjws from other countries, but there's a steady numbers of ex members joining and we are hopeful this year. There are over 200k jws in the Philippines, we have so much to cover, there are a lot who are awake but scared of their families. Keep safe over there and more power.

To love Christ Jesus and Jehovah will take sacrifices. Leaving the organization and Conditional friends has been the best thing in my life. I serve Jehovah and Jesus, not men that have put themselves in Jesus seat. When I received a letter for a judicial meeting I disguarded it as if it was junk mail. They are not legal or licensed judges or lawyers. Now I've reconnected with the real life and read my King James Bible. I'm glad you reaching out to extended family. I've done the same and reconnected with my cousins. I enjoyed your example.

Very brave of you to not only decide to research but to take the step to disassociate yourself. The Watchtower is full of cowards who cannot answer the valid questions and criticisms of those who realize that something is wrong, so they use abusive tactics like that one elder did to you, victim blaming instead of answering honest questions. The Watchtower counts on the fear of us losing everyone that is close to us to keep us in line. You set a great example at following your conscience rather than fear. I also found it very encouraging that when you found yourself alone, you didn't wallow in self-pity but you did something about it. You reached out to family. You couldn't find a group for Filipino ExJWs so you made one. I am truly inspired by your experience and wish you and your family the best! Enjoy your freedom!

Went down an internet rabbit hole around 7pm, researched till I passed out at about 4am and when I woke up, nearly 50 years of indoctrination had been broken through in just one night. What a relief. How exciting to hear ur story. I left at 19 and was so alone, at first. Within two years I met two of best friends, and I have a community of people, from all walks of life (that's what I'm used to, and how I agree it should be), who love and support me unconditionally. Like everything it takes time. I promise people are good, for the most part. The depiction we were raised with is false Very exciting times, and thank you for sharing ✌

My sister's husband was pointing a camera up into the bathroom, from the basement, and was filming people naked. The elders tried to kind of blame her for his actions, as if he was supressed or something. He never got disfellowshipped. They love hiding sex crimes.

I feel alone in my area as well but know there are many who also left and are leaving all the time. I guess or community is truly worldwide. Based on truth about the truth. Keep up the fine work. Im glad im no longer in fear of the organisation that controlled my life through guilt and fear of the shunning. All my children follwed their hearts and. Have rejected the jw doctrines and are wonderful people. My hope is that those stoll in will wake up as you have. Its just a matter of time. Watchtower is so full of errors. Hi, you are not alone. Find other groups too, not just exJW. There are many groups where you can find good, nonjudgmental friends. If you like gardening, look online for gardening groups in your area. Whatever your interest are, you can find a group of people with your same interests. Enjoy your freedom.
I reacted the same in 2015 shock by answerd of Jef Jac .i was isolated still is but my childrens who left support me im learning be happy beautifull creation around me lots of nature. Im from Canada. I know im not alone so im ok sometime i feel im in paradice being free to be learning seing new things apreciate natures this beautifull creation. I feel closer to god protected Jesus way of dealing with peoples reassure me is personality kindness loving way. And is more powefull than anything so were protected.Aniway take care lots of good things around.

I always had nagging doubts - that cognitive dissonance at work in my head for years. I thought Jackson was a total moronic buffoon when I saw and heard him give his pathetic testimony. Angus Stewart destroyed all of them with moral reasoning, logic and even Bible insight. And you’re right; WT tried like hell to keep Jackson from having to appear in court. Mark O’Donnell is a partner with Lloyd Evans and writes articles for JWSurvey. From what I remember reading in his story of waking up, he explained how he forwarded docs about the GB's role at WT to Stewart & team to enable them to legally appeal to the Court. Thereafter, they were able subpoena Jackson and force his fat butt to appear.

To love Christ Jesus and Jehovah will take sacrifices. Leaving the organization and Conditional friends has been the best thing in my life. I serve Jehovah and Jesus, not men that have put themselves in Jesus seat. When I received a letter for a judicial meeting I disguarded it as if it was junk mail. They are not legal or licensed judges or lawyers. Now I've reconnected with the real life and read my King James Bible. I'm glad you reaching out to extended family. I've done the same and reconnected with my cousins. I enjoyed your example.

Very brave of you to not only decide to research but to take the step to disassociate yourself. The Watchtower is full of cowards who cannot answer the valid questions and criticisms of those who realize that something is wrong, so they use abusive tactics like that one elder did to you, victim blaming instead of answering honest questions. The Watchtower counts on the fear of us losing everyone that is close to us to keep us in line. You set a great example at following your conscience rather than fear.
I also found it very encouraging that when you found yourself alone, you didn't wallow in self-pity but you did something about it. You reached out to family. You couldn't find a group for Filipino ExJWs so you made one. I am truly inspired by your experience and wish you and your family the best! Enjoy your freedom!

Went down an internet rabbit hole around 7pm, researched till I passed out at about 4am and when I woke up, nearly 50 years of indoctrination had been broken through in just one night. What a relief. Within two years I met two of best friends, and I have a community of people, from all walks of life (that's what I'm used to, and how I agree it should be), who love and support me unconditionally. Thank you for sharing your experiences. They do like to blame the woman for everything. My sister's husband was pointing a camera up into the bathroom, from the basement, and was filming people naked. The elders tried to kind of blame her for his actions, as if he was supressed or something. He never got disfellowshipped. They love hiding sex crimes.

I feel alone in my area as well but know there are many who also left and are leaving all the time. I guess or community is truly worldwide. Based on truth about the truth. Keep up the fine work. Im glad im no longer in fear of the organisation that controlled my life through guilt and fear of the shunning. All my children follwed their hearts and. Have rejected the jw doctrines and are wonderful people. My hope is that those stoll in will wake up as you have. Its just a matter of time. Watchtower is so full of errors. Hi, you are not alone. Find other groups too, not just exJW. There are many groups where you can find good, nonjudgmental friends. If you like gardening, look online for gardening groups in your area. Whatever your interest are, you can find a group of people with your same interests.

I reacted the same in 2015 shock by answerd of Jef Jac .i was isolated still is but my childrens who left support me im learning be happy beautifull creation around me lots of nature. Im from Canada. I know im not alone so im ok sometime i feel im in paradice being free to be learning seing new things apreciate natures this beautifull creation. I feel closer to god protected Jesus way of dealing with peoples reassure me is personality kindness loving way. I always had nagging doubts - that cognitive dissonance at work in my head for years. I thought Jackson was a total moronic buffoon when I saw and heard him give his pathetic testimony. Angus Stewart destroyed all of them with moral reasoning, logic and even Bible insight.
And you’re right; WT tried like hell to keep Jackson from having to appear in court. Mark O’Donnell is a partner with Lloyd Evans and writes articles for JWSurvey. From what I remember reading in his story of waking up, he explained how he forwarded docs about the GB's role at WT to Stewart & team to enable them to legally appeal to the Court. Thereafter, they were able subpoena Jackson and force his fat butt to appear.
