I live in Ohio and one of my Blue Angel hosta is growing another baby hosta out of the center…..it’s on a shoot. It can’t possibly be a bloom as it’s too soon here in Ohio. What do o do with it? Can I cut it off and make another plant out of it?

I'm hoping you're going to recommend what type of soil you're using...maybe I'm complicating things, lol.

Hi there!👋👋 In this video we used regular potting soil you can find at many different garden stores or big box stores. It's generally equal parts peatmoss, bark, and perlite. We know and understand some people not wanting to use anything with peat in it and there are alternatives that can be substituted. You can also us any general garden bed soil that drains well and can be made up of topsoil, sand, and compost. We like to add compost to the each containers every 6-months to a year as a top dressing of 1-2 inches to keep the soil as fertile as possible. You can also fertilize every week or so with a liquid fertilizer or use pelleted time-release fertilizers to keep up your plants health. Hope that helps. Thank you for watching! 😀😊
