Sir I appreciate your details! So important to real Radio enthusiasts. The protective film over the lcd screen is a big deal to me.I’m old and I leave it on so I don’t scratch it. Thank you for the great videos !!💯💯
I really like this one. Normally I’d pass on it, as AM on these things usually is not the greatest, but this one seemed to do pretty good.(( Some of it may be because conditions are slightly improved(?)). But, I have put this on my “short” list. It has a lot of useful features. Like, it can be plugged in. That’s rare for this type. Very cool ❗️ 📻🙂
You have done superb emergency radio comparisons in the past. Would you also consider a comparison of small pocketable AM/FM/WB radios such as this Vondor 300, Retekess PR12, etc. in the future?
i currently have this radio along with my collection of 12 radios such as my radioshack 12-250, midland WR-400 V2, midland WR-30, radioshack 12-246, and radioshack 12-262 among others, and i’ve been having my 300WB for about a year since july 2020 when i purchased it on amazon, though i started using it since may or april of last year once i figured out some of the features such as how to enable ALERT MODE and how to manually save AM/FM presets. for some reason, my 300WB has the white color font as opposed to the black color font that i’ve seen most 300WBs have on some youtube videos. like my 3 other handhelds (midland HH50, radioshack 12-245 and 246), my 300WB is for recurring use and i would usually turn it on and leave it on ALERT MODE when either severe weather occurs or if one of my two main NWR stations (WXL70 and KHC27) conduct a weekly test on a wednesday. i wish there was something on the radio where it would have a 10 second tone for alerts while it’s on ALERT MODE and then automatically turn on the audio since that’s what weather radios with SAME do (if they have their setting on voice that is), or if it receives a weather alert while it’s on ALERT MODE, it’ll automatically turn on the audio for about 5 minutes then automatically turn it back off once the 5 minutes is done those are just my suggestions for the 300WB so it could have a few features that other weather radios have despite the 300WB being a simple AM/FM/WB pocket radio like pretty much almost any pocket radio out there with those 3 frequencies
If you live in severe storm and tornado country this is worth it for the weather radio alone. My RadioShack AM/FM headset radio is amazing on AM (except for the excessive soft mute) and the part where the ferrite antenna is located is less than two inches wide so I know they can make very sensitive AM radios with small antennas. It cost over $50.00 though so maybe it`s simply made well. I cannot believe how sensitive it is and how long batteries last. The bandwidth appears to be no higher than 2kz. It gets all the weak daytime stations my other radios get and all my favorite nighttime stations. I listened to WJR for a long time on it the other night and that station is 960 miles from my location.
Not a bad little radio for the on the go person with weather alerts! Mr. Todderbert i would like to see you do a complete report on the GrunDig Satellite 750 fm stereo/ LW/ MW/ SW/ AIR/ SYNTHESIZED RECEIVER!? IF YOU DID COULD YOU SEND ME THE LINK! THANK YOU SEMPER FI 📡🌀
Took the 300WB out of its case not even 10 minutes and already there was a scratch on the screen. My thumbnail put more scratches on the screen. Very, very soft plastic. Best to use a piece of stick-on screen protector. Price is now ~$10 on Amazon, but the 300WB has disappeared from Vondior's website. Noticed that even late 2020, the enclosed owner's manual does not match the 300WB. Otherwise, the 300WB looks pretty good as an emergency backpack radio.
The radio also has Stereo printed in the plastic near the headphones. There is a dedicated button to turn the FM Stereo on or off. ruclips.net/video/-Yvq9eeEjao/видео.html , ruclips.net/video/-Yvq9eeEjao/видео.html
Hello, Great radio, I was wondering if you can still listen to the radio while in the alert mode? Either way , I'd like to pick one up. Maybe it'll pick up more channels in the weather band than my retekess pr15 does. ( my area in CT. can only pick up 2 weather channels anyways.)Thanks enjoyed as always.
It does not let you listen to the radio while in Alert mode. Probably to keep battery drain to a minimum. I did notice it actively scans all the channels for alert tones.
@@todderbert so it's probably smaller than 5.5 to 2.5 then. I did see the multi tip one's. Thanks for commenting. Besides my old Philco AM FM clock radio, and stereo system, I don't have a dedicated Player and I thought about getting one that takes AA or AAA for a while now, in case power goes out. I was going to get a Sony, but I kinda want a NOAA one. Eventually I want to get the CC Pocket as well.
todderbert So if I wrap the wrist strap around the headphones wire it may increase my reception? I wonder if the antenna wire was some how removed from the wrist strap it could be added to a longer piece of wire for better reception.
Bought VONDIOR 300- almost impossible to set clock - can't see screen because it does not reflect function- shows 18:88 and tunes stations WITHUT updating screen - GARBAGE-- cheap price = cheap product+ AVOID !
i think you might need to read its manual on how to set stuff like the clock (at least if it came with a manual, i believe it did) you might get a little confused with the features at first, but overtime you’ll get used to it by then

My guy everything is made in China
I like it when a company adds a thank you note. I consider it a touch of class.
When I got my Tecsun radio there was a note inside basically saying: "The radio might not work and could be broken." They were right.
Whoa!
It makes me feel appreciated 😀 and makes me have an instant respect for the company

I just got a couple of them on amazon for $8 each. Love it for my bug out bag etc.
You read my mind regarding a red radio on a red background! :)
What is this madness no red background!?!? ..oh I see ;) great review
Just bought it on your recommendation and I love it. It is a great buy and a good little radio.
Excellent. It is a bargain for sure.

I think the problem is that the ferrite is right behind the speaker, so it's probably affecting reception.
The Vondior 300WB Radio is currently on sale at Amazon for $10.97, almost half the price quoted in the video making it an even better deal.

Best simple model.
Select-A-Tenna rocks!
Judging by the cc pocket I think it may be a tiny bit taller and thicker then the harlodge
Amazon ad says the headphones are mono only. Which is correct? Thanks
They are FM Stereo, tried and tested by yours truly ;)

How does it stack up againts the HRD-104?
👍👍 can’t beat it for the money

@@todderbert ok, thank you for letting me know.
How do I turn off the alarm ? It goes off at 12 : 00 twice a day
What size barrel plug power adapter does this take? I looked up dc 3v adapter and it looks like it's 5.5 to 2.5, is that the right size?
not, sure but it is small. get a decent unit with multiple sizes.

Uhh. Never mind. I figured it out. Thanks
Did you say that headphones work as an antenna?
I think the headphone's wire interacts with the nearby strap antenna. So it doesn't disengage, and works on wire proximity.
todderbert So if I wrap the wrist strap around the headphones wire it may increase my reception? I wonder if the antenna wire was some how removed from the wrist strap it could be added to a longer piece of wire for better reception.
Price is down to $15. Went down. How about that!!
