One of Kirk's biggest criticisms, is that he didn't know how to chew clock. If you look at the best QBs, they could run the clock out on you. Aaron Rodgers I remember when it always felt like the game was over when they had a lead, because he would just have these 5+ minute drives, their defense gets a stop, and that's 10 minutes gone, and they're probably going to get another field goal too to add to their lead. Kirk was always seemingly in speedrun mode, like he was trying to see how fast he could score, which is great for comeback wins, and why he has so many, but it's also a hindrance.

I think you can say that Flores is comparable to Zimmer, and where perhaps Flores surpasses Zim is being able to do more with less. Zimmer had some great defenses, but those defensive rosters were stacked. Vikings were 14th in scoring defense and 16th in yards allowed in 23'. That defense had no business being in the top half of the league statistically given their personnel. So maybe I'm agreeing with Judd and making an argument for Flores. Now that the players marry up with what Flores likes, there is some runway to get even better. Love having a good defense.

Dex hot take is spot on, the only pass and catch that is in the same realm as the 97 yard strike would be Farve to Lewis.
Cunningham to Moss was great, but a lot of those were sloppy deep balls that Moss had to stop for, adjust for or tip them around and snag them out of the air.
Darnolds piss missile hit Jets in stride, over the defense and dropped in there there like a butterfly with sore feet.

Ignoring the miracle, I remember the 99 yard TD to Berrian from Gus Frerrote, it was flawless. Carters 65 yard OT TD against the Bears. This was a great play but that take is too much.

💎Sam was an Aaron Jones fumble (at the 1) away from a 300+ yards 3 tuddy outting vs a healthy top 3 defense.
If that doesn’t occur it’s a Vikings throttling of a 2023 Super Bowl team.
He led a game clinching drive without Jefferson, Addison, Hock or Aaron Jones.
    When will folks get it?
Yes, you got a shiny new toy in McCarthy who played well vs raider back ups in preseason.
Then these guys got excited and talked out of pocket too soon on Sam.
Now they (especially Judd) are not giving Sam the attention he deserves.
    Because they were wrong.
I heard someone say in a Vikings chat “Darnold will get us a Super Bowl and we can let McCarthy Marinate”.
I feel like I’m in a clown world. Some fans want JJ so bad that they actually think if Sam wins a Super Bowl that the Vikings let Sam walk.
What if Sam takes a team friendly deal to stay in the FIRST PLACE IN HIS CAREER that a team has shown him love?
He’s been literally a laughing stock of the league for more than half a decade. He’s already loaded.
Mental health is a thing and if he balls out here with these weapons he can make up the financial difference on the back end.
Talk to Tom Brady about not taking the bag. How did that work out for him?💎

Great Job Vikes! You had me hearing the gjallarhorn in my dreams. My nitpick, #2 ... don't sit there bouncing 3 yards off the receiver, and wait to tackle him until he catches the ball. Hit that man! I was going insane!

If they can do it again against the Texans, I'll go from buying 50 percent of Sam Darnold stock to a full 100 percent. The Vikings have a history of having emotional hangovers from winning big games. Put this one away and go to work to do it again.
Also, Mac, how can you not give some pie to CJ Ham for that blocked punt???? Shame shame shame.

Kirk never was good enough to overcome the holes his contract created. If you are paying a QB big money, they have to be able to overcome roster deficiencies, not just point fingers of blame every possible place but themself.
Its why I always said that Kirk was one of, and several years the worst QB to have in the league. Nobody cost more to bring less. Anyone paid more for years was worth it, anyone cheaper wouldve freed up the team add talent that mattered.
