That is probably the most classy, most well done classic car that I have ever laid my eyes upon. I never thought I would see a perfect car that had been restored and customized. If this car isn't perfect, then its the closest I have ever seen. The color, the fabrication, the attention to detail, the thought process of the custom parts, all are a 10 ! Its like finding the Holy Grail ! My camera is trying to jump out of its bag ! How ya gonna top this one Scottie ? Thanks for that shoot bud !
When you opened the hood, the second I saw all those rivers and how clean it looked made me think it was something straight out of The Rocketeer!!! If I only had three words to describe this car, they would be: POWER/ELEGANCE/BEAUTY!!!! Way to go guys, EPIC BUILD!!!!
wow its beautiful saw one on here sat in a field for 40 years....this one stunning clean engine bay it's the details pride in craftsmanship with the large 88 logo in the trunk. I wouldn't change a thing.
My grandfather's friend has a 58 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz that he's owned since new. He calls her Maybelline. That car has never seen winter and has probably never even been out in the rain. And it's still 100% stock and original. The only things he's ever had to change are the tires, battery, and starter. Such a beautiful car
+ScottieDTV Would like you to check out my invention and tell me what you think. I think you and your friends will love it! Go to: kickbackkooler.com and let me know what you think. Thank you. Jim
I remember seeing a 55 or 56 Pontiac Safari wagon( variant of Nomad) at a show about 15 years ago; it was black and perfectly done, high end build. I never saw another one except for a nice old unrestored one years later. I still drool when I think of that car. Much nicer built than most Nomads. It was worthy of ScottieDTV.
The cool thing about these Olds, and the pontiacs and buicks as well is they arent the same old tri five Chevy that is at every car show and cruise spot and usually cost half the price. Fantastic looking car.
Just checking back on this fine one of a kind build I love❤it and it's the same age as I but it's aged and looks & runs way better than I ever did or will lol😂
My Dad had a 57 Oldsmobile 88 it was black and red . Black and red interior my mom learned to drive in it it seemed so big l loved the rockets above the headlights that car could race it was fun my mom would drive us kids to shopping or for a ride because she had a heavy foot on the gas pedal at that timeshe wasahot young blond in a Hot car and turned a lot of heads lots of fun back in the sixties.❤😅😊
I'm 77yrs young owned one Of these mine was a j2 rocket Got a lot of speeding tickets Went to progressive linkage On my 3 two carbs ,what a Super sound when those 3 Twos kicked in addicting. And that big back seat where A lot of action took place at the drive in movies , managed to out run a police car a very scary deal But I made it. Still today my favorite car and I had a bunch Of fsst cars now drive a super Charged 5.0 stang. 627hp But nothing comes close to The sound of those three two"s On that J2 rocket and doing The wild thing in the back seat !
My dad bought a 1957 Super88 2 dr. sedan(with post) in 1957. It was the famous(and almost trademark) turquoise inside and out. It was, according to him, quite respected for its performance on the street. It had a 227 hp engine, shared with the '98. It was 4,400 lbs., less than the '98, which gave it greater performance. It is perhaps the best styled Olds of the '50's. Those '56 Supers and '98's for that year were stylish as well. For '57, Olds decided it was time for a major styling change.
lol..I agree...I am so proud of these boy for hitting this one out of the park...Not sure what will top it...but when I left Will last night I told him...Back to work on Monday...what's the next one?!?!!..lol...stick around see if I can do it!
I couldn't see anything on the door panels to put down the windows, then I saw it later on in the video.. I forgot GM put the power widow switches on the Oldsmobile (57-60 I think), up on the molding right underneath the windshield corners
I EVEN LIKED IT WHEN ALL THE HUB CAPS WERE TAKEN & JUST THE BLACK WHEELS EXPOSED.IT WAS ROTTING AWAY BESIDE THEIR GARAGE & I REMEMBER MY FATHER SAYING SOMEONE HAD BEEN OFFERING J. ALOT OF MONEY 4 THAT & AN ORANGE W/A BEIGE VINYL TOP ELCOMINO (BOTH ROTTING DOWN,BOTH W/BIG ENGINES)& I WAS AMAZED AT $ HE FINALLY GOT OUT OF THEM.ALMOST AS MUCH AS THEY WERE NEW.THOSE WERE MY 2 ALL TIME FAVORITE CARS/TRUCKS.
My favorite uncle bought one of those New in green. He went to one dealer, and they ignored him, he was black, and in his work clothes. He went across town to another dealer, paid cash for the car, and returned to the first dealer and had external mirrors installed. J2 2dr hardtop. R.I.P. Uncle Rufus.

Absolutely beautiful........but Christine is or was a 1958 Plymouth Fury..?
It's more of the fact that this Car like Christine almost killed them....It fought them every step of the way....
love the car.. that red impala was a tease LOL....
should of left the radio and all the chrome knobs etc on the dash, for a more original look.
YEH THE 57 OLDS DASH WAS A WORK OF ART NOT TO BE TAMPERED WITH ALTHOUGH IT WOULD TAKE AWAY FROM THE CLEAN LOOK THE CAR HAD BEEN GIVEN ! ....////
Nice Olds, would have really love to have seen a nice built 394" Rocket under the hood though .
That would have been cool...
Aces work here...wish there were a few middle-distance shots...an over-all look would be nice
Glad you liked it!
