I assume it's because the plow was designed for an ATV without hydraulics available. Just because something can be done doesn't mean it's the best solution. Looks like a nice plow for someone who doesn't have hydraulics already. But it adds expense for tractor owners. Retrofit it to use the hydraulics we already have and they'd sell more, IMHO.
@@joes2514 I can’t see why you couldn’t just use the quick connects for the plow cylinders. It’s cool looking an we deserve v plows on our tractors but I’d like to see them mounted on the loader arms for higher amounts of snow.
@@stevensilva1350 I don't know enough about hydraulics to know if the plows system could handle the pressure coming from the tractor. Their "solution" was to design a universal plow to sell to more people with the unfortunate side effect of costing more than it needs to for people who already paid for hydraulics. Basically it's a universal system that's not for everyone. It's a shame because the plow itself looks sweet.
Awesome video. I live in Alaska and have a Kabota BX 2660 model tractor that is very much similar to the one in the video. Just my understanding that the V plow blade with everything that comes from Boss is Me to be fitted to a UTV. I is there an outfit that makes the pieces of the modification for attaching the plow to a tractor that a person can purchase, or does the person has to find a welding shop to make those pieces that are mentioned in the video for the plow to be attached to a tractor? Thanks
I have the B2650 with a cab could this plow be adapted to that? I already have hydraulic control that rotates my snowblower chute that I could most likely attach the hoses for the blade tilt on to. Does this only require two hoses for the blade tilt?
I doubt it would work since this is designed to work with its own pump & solenoids much like on a pickup. You wouldn't get all the features of the V without its joystick. And they are priced not far from a truck snow plow. If you have a QT skid steer style loader on your B. There are companies that make QT plows for compact tractors, ie. Hiniker. Where your 3rd hydraulic could run the blade angle.
80srockerable I would keep it the way it is set up with its own pump just quick hitch it on to the front of the tractor and run the wires up by the seat. i’ve seen the joystick zip tied to the loader control lever before. So then you would actually get all the features but I also opted to not buy the loader for my B tractor because I already have two tractors with loaders. Right now the loader control lever is controlling the hydraulics on my snowblower. I was just looking at the hitch on my snowblower and it is attached onto the back of the snowblower separately with four large 3/4 inch or larger bolts and was thinking if I could get just that bracket then I could get it welded or bolted on to the back of the hitch of the boss V plow.
@@mainelyelectric I see. Well anything is possible with fabrication or a capable welding shop. The lift for your blower would be redundant with the plows. But that probably ok. You probably want the ability to switch out plow for snow blower with minimum effort. This little V's are pricey. There are other brands too. Snowdogg , etc. A small pusher may be something to consider too and requires only up/down movement.
It does but obviously he didn't see it or he simply doesn't read or respond to any of the comments on this Channel. I have weights on my wheels and because I have wheel weights from several of my old tractors I built a bracket that holds 4 more wheel weights on my three point hitch with a built in stand that I can drop the weights down to the ground when I'm done so when it's parked for long periods of time there is no weight on the 3 point hitch.
meant to be left on the tractor" Unless you mow with it as most BX owners do. Then the bracket has to come off. I'll stick with the loader mounted plow/ third function valve. More versatile anyway.
I like this setup. The only thing I would change would be ditching those turf tires for the industrial R4 tires. Anything over a 6 inch snow and the turf tires tend to spin even with weight. The R4's actually grip and pull through snow a lot better. Other than that looks great.
I had turf tires and they are garbage in the snow. Switched to R4's and much better. The R4 tread you get more pounds per square inch because of the tread design.
Carlisle Versa Turf tires are the best tires for snow. My R4's slid all over the place on icy surfaces. The Versa Turf tread design combines the tread of the R4's and turf giving more contact points for better traction.
Where did you put the solenoid?
I made a mount on my k connect and mounted a skid steer V blade and used 3rd function valve. To control other 1/2 of blade tilt
why would you want to have separate hydraulics for the plow, the tractor has its own hydro to run this thing...
It’s been a few years now how is the customer liking his custom boss plow?
Why electric over hydraulic? I just don’t see the benefit

Any links of it actually doing work?
I have just one question for that customer do you have enough weights there bud

I thought Kubota notes in the manual that if you fill the tires, you should not use tire weights... you risk damaging the transmission.

I feel the exact opposite. Ive had r4 and switched to turfs. The turf tire work hands down better in all snow depths for me.
Wrong ... turf tires all the way. John Deere's 955 all 4 tires loaded push 2' of snow all day long
Turfs put more rubber on the deck. R4s wear excessively at the edges as a result of tight turning.
