His "fuckk" reaction is so perfect as any player running into one of these, especially early game can attest to.

Knight Titus is clearly shown to be a representation of how far the Brotherhood's fallen in terms of standards since the days of the Maxons. The Elder even says as much to Maximus. I mean shit man he's played by Michael Rappaport so that alone should've ticked your intuition about Titus's character lol
@@kye4216 While I can agree that this is not how any member of the Brotherhood has been depicted in the games, especially Fallout 4 in particular which the show is largely based on. I'm not the biggest fan of this portrayal of a knight of the Brotherhood of Steel. I can separate the fact that this is a TV show. Later on in the show when the Brotherhood invades the NCR remnants it is more in line with what is expected. Titus was just a coward, the show runners wanted to show that there are normal people in the BoS that are not fanatics ready to die for some convoluted ideals. Maximus had this idea in his head that all the Knights are stoic, saviours of the wasteland. They are not.... The Brotherhood of Steel are a bunch of isolationist recluses, which don't care about anything or anyone but their own ideals. And admittedly that's what we all love/hate about them.

I took it to be that the Brotherhood has remained isolationist zealots for far too long, and their own Knights are growing desensitized to the mission. Incredibly accurate to the games.

At 2:14, the punch doesn’t even seem to be that powerful, yet it moves the Yao Gaoi back several feet. That thing has to weigh at least half a ton, and the fact that a single Power Armored punch could rock it backwards and close to off balance really highlighted how a Knight with actual balls probably could have manhandled the monster easy

@danhalo1 Yeah, I thought the same thing. But this show was actually pretty good imo. The warhammer project is actually being run by Henry Cavill. Who is also a die-hard warhammer fan. So he'll hopefully ensure the show does it justice.

Yao guai’s are only sorta weak in fallout 4, and the variants are tougher. Fallout 3 and nv yao guai are way tougher

Plus letting the guy bleed was good thing. They were gonna kill him once they found his knight was injured since the knight was going to blame him of his own incompetence that got him killed.

I think it works on a few different levels. It can be kind of unnerving hearing the contrast of his sheer panic coming through his badass voice filter. At the same time it's also very funny in a dark way lol

the brotherhood of steel traditionally have had medieval themes, complete with elders, scribes, knights, and, in this guy’s case, a squire. so subordinates calling their superiors “milord” is accurate for the theme

Because it was "Imagined" by people who knew nothing about guns. Some dev saw A picture of A Lewis gun once and that abomination of A rifle is what they sketched out from an incorrect memory, I doubt it was because BethSoft would have had to pay A royalty to HK or Cetme.
@@AKloverthat’s not even true since Bethesda has used stuff like a m14 and m16 in the past in stuff like 3 and NV. Hell in fallout 4 and 76 we literally get a AK-47 (homemade rifle which is dumb name). The issue is they originally had other plans for the assault rifle of fo4 since it was meant to be a mg but switched to be “assault rifle” because the chuckle fucks were running out of time it is lazy as hell they didn’t bother fixing this in 76 since they literally bothered to put the god damn M2 browning in it.
At least now in the series it makes sense that only those with power armor can weld it, in the games it looked too big and impractical yet it was considered the "main assault rifle" to be used
@@gezza1739 its a Bethesda mistake since originally the “assault rifle” was meant to be a lmg but with them rushing it they didn’t add a model for a actual assault rifle and just renamed this one.

This scene kind of killed the show for me. Brotherhood of Steel knights are a veteran/ leadership position and in their time not even the scariest thing they would have encountered. A knight wouldn't panic in a situation like this.
The brotherhood in this one are on the downward slope. The standards have gotten worse and when Maximus tells the elder what happened he’s VERY disappointed.
This is basically like someone getting a high position through nepotism and incompetence as the BOS start kicking ass later in the show til coop shows up

Look. I know nothing about Fallout apart from it being a game IP. I came into this show completely tabula rasa. I was thinking these Knights are stoic, solemn in their duties, and righteous in their convictions (whether actually noble as a movement or not). So when suddenly this Knight starts putting his situation on blast through that freaking vocoder, sizing this bear up with "Holy SHIT-" I died. This scene actually has me bursting out laughing in public when it comes to mind. This is without a doubt one of the most vulnerable, accurate depictions of humanity I've ever seen in media.
Can I ask why people are leaving radioactive barrels all over the place? That's dangerous.
You guys are missing it all; Max had, in fact, maimed Dane, and did not intervene because he wanted Titus to die. He's written as a flawed character, but we get glimpses of him being a cowardly shithead with a massive chip on his shoulder. Let me paint a picture: Titus' reaction was actually legitimately reasonable for human reaction, even for a seasoned soldier. Titus' primary firearm had just been disabled. He squares up on this massive bear and just finishes lighting it up, only to realize this only angered the bear. When Titus looks over at Max, he realizes Max has done nothing for *30 seconds*. Titus panics and runs; what he should have done is run over to Max and grab the pistol even if the process killed Max. Back to the scene - Max does nothing for another *10 seconds* while the bear chases Titus. Max crests the cave and waits another *28 seconds* before accurately placing a shot in the bear's head at distance after being pleaded with to (reasonably) help 3 times. Max consciously wanted Titus to triumph to meet his vision of the BoS, but was subconsciously also struggling and looking to Titus to fail and take the armour up.

The Brotherhood of Steel Knights [and the rest of their forces] aren’t particularly skilled. Titus, Maximus etc, were not particularly remarkable fighters. The elder in the Brotherhood even states that they are currently weak and need to be restructured.
That makes sense with the context of the last couple of games.
The Brotherhood sent an expedition to the East Coast where their leader (in their eyes) betrayed their main goals that lead to a civil war within that group.
The Mojave Chapter of the Brotherhood went to war with the NCR and got their asses kicked hard.
And the reformer East Coast faction then went to war over the Commonwealth and who evens how that went down.
makes sense. a better soldier would not have been intimidated by the yai gua and would ahve easily beted it with power armor. here the motherfucker just panics.
@@MatthewPaul92the Brotherhood in this story probably is used to fighting raiders and slaughtering mutants. If they come across skilled individuals or more powerful creatures they don’t do so well.
@@Reyma777 Yeah, it shows in the finale too which I liked. An NCR remant group was able to take out an entire Brotherhood assault taskforce. Granted, there was another fresh assault force ready and flying in, but it still shows how far their standards have fallen. Titus was a great first look at that, and it ties in well with the lore.

It's 100 percent fitting with the lore dude. Look at it. An entire chapter on the East Coast went rogue. Lost Hills got its shit kicked in by the NCR. Midwest Brotherhood is in a locked war with Midwest Enclave.
Not only is it a major plot point that the Brotherhood has fallen far in the games, it's a plot point in the show. The Elder reveals his whole plan to rebuild the Brotherhood from the ground-up with only the most true and diehard warriors (using that cold fusion energy source everyone was after) is BASED ON THIS.

Power armor isn’t some magic armor that just absorbs all damage and leaves the user unscarred.
That’s a giant fucking mutated bear with the strength to throw around a power armor user like they’re made of rubber, and knight Titus was a pussy.
Most likely what happened is the bear’s attacks caused a lot of blunt force trauma on Titus’s body, causing him to die from internal bleeding

Also to contrast his carelessness with Maximus's overambitious loyalty to them.
