I did it on my IM peninsula 20g. Added some rock I found at my local lfs from a customer tank tear down, live sand and 10 gallons of seasoned tank water also from a local lfs. Make sure the water comes from coral only system so you don’t have to worry about any medication. Added bacteria and the next day corals and clean up crew. I also recommend monitoring nitrate and phosphate, you want them detectable. Added fish the 3rd day and the tank looks great 8 months later. Tiny bit of algae but it disappeared right away. This method works great on smaller tanks.
Honestly, you guys have some of the best looking corals I’ve seen on RUclips. The way you guys place/arrange certain corals in a tank coupled with the vibrant colors is just.. WOW! Also, after watching you guys for a good bit I have to ask, what kind of LED light set up do you use behind your tanks? That’s sick!
Thank you 🙏 🔥🔥🔥🔥 fire island and the 350 are using philips wiz led strips. The 30 long honestly I found a set of random led strips I had laying around 😂 can’t even tell you the name - however odds r they will go out at some point n I will replace them with Phillips wiz strips too !
Ever been to Hawaii and look in the surf tide pools and lagoons? Lots of sand. Burrowing fish and organisms. Plenty of variety of small and very young fish can be seen and found. Along with sponges, gorgonians, all sorts of various corals. As well as all sorts of inverts. Acropora in a lagoon tank just seems wrong. I know it’s done all the time, but…. A real lagoon tank would be very cool. Rock flowers, urchins, anemones etc.
Using established rock, sand,, or biomedia from a current tank to a new tank is basically just like doing a water change in the new tank. The bacteria is already there, no need for the wait for it to grow. If you just use the bacteria and put nothing in the new tank, the bacteria just dies off so you wanna add stuff in there. Just don't get crazy with stocking right away
I had 3 of those Kessil a80 over the same tank and had success. I don't think I had any SPS in that tank, but everything else in there grew well enough.
Have 2 a80 over my 20 gal, did not get sps to grow, they stagnated and then slowly died, upgrading this week. On the other hand lps and shrooms grow slow but steady.
Great to keep live rock always cooking and settling in sumps, buckets and Tupperware/ Husky tubs. Throw in preset heaters and a small circulation pump and bacteria, cheap digital thermometer. Keep covered. Top off with RODi every so often. Fill initially with nice freshly made saltwater.
Don’t forget the amphipods and copepods if you want also. But then you’d have to throw in a little phytoplankton from time to time. Amphipods from AquariumDepot and others. Great for seeding tanks, sumps and live rock tubs.
Love the videos..but if your down for a lil trip like y'all did for the frag swap in Lakeland(where I live),hit up marine Warehouse in Tampa FL,that's my go to store for anything coral wise or fish wise..tell them the dudes with tattoos who come literally every saturday and Sunday sent you guys...trust me you won't be disappointed...
The primes would work great on that tank or any tank tbh. I have 3 over my 100gal and they're doing the job. Keep it up y'all, can't wait to see what you add to the tank. I would put a small tomini tang in there (my fav) lol
Love your tanks! I also like how you decorated your home. Good taste! Question…in your Wrangler what do you have on the underside of the t-tops? I have them too but love the look(black) of yours.👍🏻
Love those wooden stands - hopefully IM get's stock in Europe again soon. I just got a Geometric Hawfish today - everyone is like "Cool fish!" - I just a tiny yellow jawfish and a stunning filamented flasher too (but then you'd need a lid). My favourite fish at the moment are black banded chromis - they glow under the blues - no idea why people get blue green chromis or damsels when you can get these. I have 4 in my Red Sea Reefer 250. I wouldn't get the jawfish in the IM30 - if you do get a lid I'd get a yasha goby - but just looking at the little jawfish it's SUPER cute I also have corals from Fauna Marin coming tomorrow including an Abalone - so excited to have it clean up everything ;)
I thought you add that clarifer packet that comes with the sand to the water after you fill the tank 🙈 Not sure its gonna do much dumping it in the sand lol But maybe I'm thinking wrong, its been awhile since I've bought a bag
AI is not beginner friendly, Ai has deeper penetration than the kessil A-80. AI is better at singling out the colors. AI sucks at shallower depths due to the color disco effect. Kessil, any setting is designed to grow corals, light color distribution is better at all depths. Shimmer is better. Almost pendejo proof. I had success with both, however I push the kessil more for a better all around light. I had a hydra 26 and I hated that if I moved it slightly, only one color would shine on the coral and give it a different color that I knew was not the real color of the coral, while the kessil had a uniform color no matter the position or height.
I have a 30L. Love it. One UV, skimmer, canister, and intank fuge with IM chaetomax light all your areas covered without a sump!

@@ZoaTankBoyz Awesome, the lights have been ordered 😂 Keep up the great work!!

Solid idea👍🏼🔥
Sea in the city is my favorite local shop. The people that work their along with lower prices make it the best!
I agree 100%🔥

Yea i have a 15 gallon and have a chalice and an acro been going for 8 months and they doing good!
Sweet!

Great tip!
They don't make this tank anymore but they do make a 40L now

I love all the tanks! I just got the IM30L just wondering what light did you use in the background for ambiance? looks purple and so nice
is that fine sand you got there ...dont forget you need high flow dont forget lol exellent vid thanks
🔥🔥🔥🔥
Wait hold on…. Why did you break open that white pack? And put it in the sand?
Consider using sealab number 28? Lagoon should be replicating that area of the ocean. Shallow waters, tide pools etc.
love the home decor!

@@ZoaTankBoyz Yessss - The Abalone is like a little Roomba - without a tang it may be the way to go ;)
Awesome setup!
🙏
I’ve donee many instant cycles and never ran into any problems
Say it louder for the people in the back! 😂
Thanks for the video!

How come you don’t make your own water, RODI and saltwater?
Honestly been lazy
It’s my next thing on my list!
Fresh
Ai primes are way better!!! Nice video btw much love ❤️❤️❤️
I agree! Let’s c what happens!
I recently set up the same with different lights. What type of filter media are you using?
Nothing yet! Lol
That tank looks awesome..keep up the good work..
🙏🔥
Geooooorge out

Great info!
What’s the light your using behind the stand ??
Wiz Philip light strips!
Lmao @ so it’s one capful per 25g but it l’m going to do 1 and a half because it’s a 30g tank but you don’t want to overdose MB7.
U right should’ve done two caps! Jk 😂
school fish apogon leptacanthus
🔥👍🏼
Those lights are very bad for sps
I think so 😂 let’s c
Why are all you trying to imitate Dustin 😂
What do you do for a living bro ?
I’m in real estate 😎
So in reality, didnt you just remove 30% of your biological filtration from your big tank when you took the rocks out of the sump🤔
Could you keep a flame hawkfish in this?
