Lots of comments about the purse being stolen. While that is a definite concern, us guys need to realize that women carrying a concealed firearm may present more difficulty than men because of types of clothing or dress required for work. And, just like everything else, your carry options need to be evaluated and trained with. In this video, the first purse is a cross carry and would be very difficult to steal so that is a solid consideration for women that want to carry a firearm. Again, all options for carry need to be evaluated and trained with.
Good video. One point that I think is important... If necessary, and an assailant is VERY close, as in, almost on top of you, you can also shoot right through the purse, as soon as you have a good controlling grip on the firearm. I purse-carry *almost* 100℅ of the time, and wouldn't use anything BUT a cross-body bag with a cut-resistant (wire reinforced) strap. (Also not mentioned is that you NEED to use a purse with a special gun-ONLY compartment and a built-in holster that fits your firearm appropriately. Don't just toss your weapon in a bag with other things, which could get caught in the trigger guard with disastrous results. When you purse-carry, you have to remember to NEVER let that bag out of your complete control, even for 1 second. I am MUCH more careful with it since I started carrying, and it basically is almost like an appendage. I agree that on-body carry is usually a better choice, but there really are people who, for medical or other reasons, are not able to do that... and in that case, purse is better than not carrying at all.
Great video! Wife and I enjoyed it. She is definitely going to a crossbody now . And does anybody else notice the fact that Beth looks like Cameron Diaz 😃 stay safe
Thank you! Good video and good practical tips for purse carry. One downfall is that it can be lost/stolen. I know in California, there is a HUGE increase in purses/wallets being stolen. But, the other side is that in California, many counties do not issue CCW's (San Francisco, LA, SD, Marin, Contra Costa etc). Thanks again! Really appreciate the videos. Keep em coming!
Personally I don't subscribe to the idea of purse carry after further research. Off-body carry has the risk of theft of your CCW {and it then being used against you} and costs valuable time trying to access the weapon. Encounters can be measured in a handful of seconds, all potentially used up trying to get the gun to the firing position. The necessary in-bag holster doesn't allow for firing from within the bag. Of course, as one commenter states, if you cannot carry on-body, purse carry is better than no carry!
Say no to purse carry. I've seen the tiniest of women appendix carry. The drawback of this method have been made clear so I won't mention them, but no to purse carry.
Some men in these comments need to realize that each persons personal situation is different. What if a woman is pregnant and can’t carry on body anymore. Then maybe a cross body bag would be the way to go.
With the crossbody purse, make 100% sure you get the hand that opened the zipper out of the way! Otherwise, there is the chance that you can accidentally shoot yourself while drawing the gun!!!
Purse carry is to easy to have your gun taken away. I'd rather my wife not carry a gun than to have a gun that the bad guy can use on her easily. It took a while but I finally got my wife carrying on body.
+ekenslow I don't want to turn anyone away from self defense. That's why I am an instructor. I just want to be safe & carry in a safe manner & to do that you have to have control of your gun at all times.
This is titled "how to draw from a handbag", not "how to draw from a purse". I assumed the man would have a bag that you might see a man carrying. I think this would be much better for teaching when the woman has a woman's bag and the man has a man's bag. I am a man who carries with a bag and i xant relate to the woman carrying with her bag in this video... 👎

If I didn't know better, I'd ask if you were my GF because she says the exact same things. See my post, we're very much on same page.
Please keep in mind that a lady's purse is a #1 target for thieves. Bye-bye gun!!
Will share. Thank you.

Not a fan of purse carry. Putting your firearm in an object that is the target of thiefs is asking for trouble.
Gerberbaby922 Damn good point.

Definitely! While off body carry isn't optimal, Beth shows a great way to do so. Not THE way, but A way. :)
I appreciate the video, My wife and I are always looking at better and safer ways to carry conceal. Thank you.

Beth is a pretty woman. What a lovely lady.

Name of bags
Use a body camera when you carry.
Lolz
Handbag Carry=Death Appendix Carry=Life
Not a fan of purse carry!! Should be on your body!
No just no. It's better to not carry a gun at all than to have it in a purse.

+Red River whatever, perfect example of the perfect being the enemy of the good. Your attitude is what keeps people away from self defense.
